Dark, opaque indigo in color. Limited nose. plenty of black, blue and bramble fruits on the palate with some pepper and herbs on the finish. Very full bodied with a medium finish.

Ready to drink, but also likely to last a long time. Some reduction up front, and then a lot of blueberry fruit and floral profile. Moderate acidity, low tannin. More identifiable as California than as Syrah.

This drink great, right out of the get-go. Well-balanced, blue and black fruits on the nose with a hint of savory notes as well. Palette was very reflective of the nose with blue and black fruit, some white pepper, some herbaceous, savory notes. The mouth feel was quite lovely, and there is still some tanning and acid to carry this longer for sure. I drink this over several nights, and each night more of the savory notes came out. This is a tremendous value, and quite frankly one of the best Syrahs out of Cali.

I don't typically enjoy California Syrah, but this wine serves as a great reminder that you can't judge a wine by the region it is from. The 2017 Lagier Meredith Syrah is fantastic! It's a slightly light ruby color with a seductive nose. On the palate, there is a lovely balance of cherry, plum, and blackberry with an earthy foundation. The integrated tannins make it a pleasure to drink. My only regret is that I wish I had purchased more!

Another beautiful wine from Lagier Meredith. Deeply complex. Floral, dark fruits yumminess. Still has a lot of years on it. Decant.
