Decanted 2 hours before pairing with char-grilled Santa Maria tri-tip roast with accompanying Santa Maria beans and creamed spinach. A dark purplish ruby robe, with a nose of deep blackberry, black currant and iodine and a hint of white pepper. Smooth and silken on the palate, with excellent intensity and concentration. Avoids jammyness and was an excellent wine for this meal.
Aerated to 1 hr decant. A very nice presentation of fruit fitting descriptors of sexy, silky and smooth with good depth that rides the fence between dark & bright. Quite enjoyable, however being served beside an '04 Pax Obsidian exposed its less than stellar complexity. Feminine versus masculine perhaps? ;-)
