An inky not-quite-black pours into the glass. The rim is ox-blood red. The nose is luxurious with blackberry, plum, cassis, bacon fat, smoke, brined black olives, maybe a bit of lavender, and definite mineral. The velvety mouthfeel reflects a deft hand. The finish is long. If there is one thing about all of the L-M wines, it is structure, and this presents structure in spades. While a big, muscular wine, its balance of tannin, fruit and acid is nothing short of tremendous. New World Syrah, but with a nod to the Old. Double decanted with loads of sediment left in the bottle and almost as much left in the first decanter. 14.7% alc., but not a whiff of heat. With grilled, bacon-wrapped bison strip steak and porcini mushrooms. 04.06.24. Highly Recommended.

Had a small pour at a wine tasting. Dark purple color. Fresh and lively, expressing a cool climate syrah. Good red and black fruit notes with mouth-watering acidity. Much depth and freshness. Quite enjoyable.

Decanted for 2 hours. Plum red color. Plums and cherries on the nose. Precisely defined, vibrant fruit on the palate. Black cherries, blackberries, pepper, anise. With air a grilled meat note develops, the fruit becomes brighter and redder. Fine, sharp tannins, great acidity and balance. Finishes long and graceful with blackberries and pepper. Lovely. Drink for next 5+ years.
