Nose: pineapple, coconut, hints of cheese, steel, ricqles, jackfruit, vanilla, watercress juice Notes: quite a tropical nose and I would say despite the clear signature of Raveneau this wine shows quite some characteristics of La Foret with plenty of ripe tropical fruits. I quite enjoyed this wine although Raveneau was never my favorite style. No signs of heat from this hot vintage so I consider this quite some good work. Still young but seems approachable, probably a couple more years would make it better. Drink: 2026+ Rating: 91

Look, I know that as they go, the 18 Forets wouldn’t be the finest or even most prototypical Raveneau out there. But damn if it isn’t just an absolutely stupendous Chablis for drinking. Frankly, I’m not sure what the knock would be here. It’s not as concentrated or tropical as the 2016s, but it has more balanced acidity. A hair dilute, i guess, but makes up for it with chalky minerals and amazing transparent purity. Always a good day if you push through some yellow wax

Heidi's Gang: The White Burgs Reign (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Lovely nose with lemon and lemon pedge character, fennel, crushed shells and gravel minerality on the nose. The palate does radiate that Raveneau purity, lean, lemon and lime fruit, hints of white apple, steely, a sense of sweetness to the fruit as well. The pedigree shows, very nice.

At first a bit muted, fills out better with air. Not very delineated, though attrictive yellow fruits and a nice, long finish.
