Tasted at the Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Masterclass hosted by Olivier Humbrecht MW alongside the 2013 and 2016. This vineyard is planted with low-yielding vines 50-60 years old that are often harvested late.
Fresh and youthful, with fairly neutral nose and according to Olivier it will improve with 4-5 years of bottle age and having tasted the 2013 I fully believe him!
Palate is still fairly complex with stone fruit, mineral stone, honey and spices.
Outstanding, but hold until at least 2023.
