  Some Wine Tasted at the Acker La Paulée Auction (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Tasted at auction, immediately after tasting 2006 and 2007. Charming old Burgundy, this earthy and engaging, but slightly less fully composed compared with the younger vintages. Still very good now.

  Beautiful nose and well aged tertiary flavors. In a good place right now. Shows the acidity and structure for a long drinking window. Just a little too sour. Hope it softens in a few years!

  Burgundy and Barolo (Oficine Brera, Los Angeles): Raspberry liqueur aroma, soft in the mouth, this wine is so sultry. It has me thinking downright salacious thoughts. It's showing its age and experience and is very sexy -- I call this wine Stiffler's Mom ;)
  
  It was an incredible treat to have this next to the '93 Clos Vougeot from the same producer. Each on its own was excellent, and side by side they were even better. The concentration it took to follow them along was intense.
