Cherry fruit, citrus and hawthorn. The wine is so delicate and pure on the palate. No one has guessed its a 2003 in blind. In fact, most people thought its a 2010 Vosne. Possibly the best 03 I have tried if you exclude Leroy. The wine is wonderfully balanced with soaring acidity in the backend.

Gorgeous nose of dried florals, hawthorn, herbs, lovey plummy fruits, sour cherry, damp soil, cold stone like minerality, loads of sweet & savoury spices, farmyard bit of forest floor and truffle with underlying integrated toasty oak. Light weight, silky. Great focus and inner energy on palate. Fantastic! So expressive now!

Quite deep red colour, showing some maturity in the glass
The nose is dominated by sweet Berry fruit, quite dark with bromberries as the dominating aroma together with plums and sone spices (white pepper)
On the palate the wine hits in the front and follows all the way back with a sweet fruit and excellent length. Tannins have smoothened and the wine is very well balanced.
A very good red Burgundy from a vintage that probably deserves more attention and praise than most people thought at the release

Quite full colour. Smooth and lusciously silky in the mouth, this seems more earthy than mineral. Very composed : cool and fresh and no lack of balance. Lovely drinking, but just lacks flair and precision. 4

Nigel P's Mugneret Offline (The Ledbury, London): Ripe and full but not overly done. Far classier than the 03 Vosne. ***1/2
