  • just a very aromatic and pleasing nose. no green to me here. tertiary fruit but its present and last. The palate is a bit simpler but good.

  • PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Flower” day): Pale ruby core with a bricking rim.

Unfront, unique nose of smoke and ‘(un)mistakable vosne’ spices, sweet herbal, medicinal plant and aged dark tea leaves that is very interesting. With some time in glass more and more elegant red berry fruits. Evolving nose by the minute.

The pedigree really shows on the palate - racy acids and minerality with good level of flavour complexity - More red fruits on the palate too. Weightless yet very intense and focused. Silky tannins, clean finish with good tension.

Feels very young for a wine already 14 years of age indeed and very special wine this is. I still see 5-8 years ahead of this given the acidity, tannins and flavour balance. 94-95 points.

4 hours upon opening (“Leaf” day): Even better integration with deeper nose still. But it is also clear that (while this is certainly not a crime to drink now) this would probably need another 5-8 years to reach the point of maturity that I personally most enjoy. Retain at 94-95 points for now.
