This 14 year old wine is a convincing demonstration of how well Lagrein can age. Opaque black to the edge. A rich nose of black cherry and blackberry. Bright and refreshing acidity but not sour. Ample tannin that is supportive and drying without being troublingly harsh or astringent. The finish is juicy, fruity, and long. Overall, the best this wine has ever tasted. Wish we had bought more.

Lagrein is one of many red grapes in Europe that make interesting high quality wines that have no international reputation and are seldom planted elsewhere. This fine Reserva is opaque black even with only 1/2 inch in the glass. The tannin and texture are smooth, integrated, and rounded, with an overall taste that is bright and mouth filling. The fruit is closest to black mulberry and boysenberry. Melds superbly with a wide range of foods and glides down the throat when swallowed.

Old vines, oldish wines, this should be the best of the Lagrein grape. Hmmm. Deepl colour. Nose - oak. Palate - oak. Wine spends 'at least' 18months in small oak barriques. Hard to taste anything else. 11

Close 2 perfection. Genau das, was ich von einem Lagrein erwarte. Weich, vollfruchtig, gut eingebundene Tannine, wenig aufdringliche Säure. Toll
