  • Low alcohol. Lean & chiseled. Minerality comes through in spades. Tannins well-behaved. Fruit a bit reticent. Very good.

  • FINALLY pulled the cork on this up in the mountains. Astounding, perfect, a pointe. Total class!

  • Wow, what a great bottle of wine and a steal for $28 from K&L Wines. I'm really ticked now that UPS broke the other one. Medium bodied. Good acidity. It was a better match for mushroom ravioli in a red sauce than for the eggplant scallopini. Perfectly balanced and it reminded of good Burgundy in that it tickled my taste buds all at once. Licorice and dark fruit flavors. I got some roses too. Glenn thought it tasted like Barolo. I didn't get the tar but he did. Delicate finish. Smooth tannins. It needed more than an hour with the cork out of the bottle to really open up, so if I had more (and thanks to UPS I don't) I wouldn't be in a hurry to drink it.

  • Fantastic Lagrein. Nearly opaque and bloody in appearance. Lovely, distinctive combination of anise-flecked earth and smoky notes backed up by a dark fruits that are almost reminiscent of a fine McLaren Vale shiraz. All this is framed attractively by light oak notes which draw absolutely no attention to themselves. Juicy but solid, with great persistence. The fruit grows brighter throughout the mouth, to the point where the finish suggests cranberry. Tannins are utterly refined.

  • A very nice wine, but still needed a few more years at least in the bottle.
