First bottle of an OWC-12. Okay, too young but too curious to try and find out what quality was put in the bottle this time (2019). Well, this is fine stuff made in Mérignac in the very north of P.-L.; in fact the last producer in this municipality having survived the urban development/threat of Greater Bordeaux. PnP and then drunk over several hours. Dark red color, fine classical nose, good structure and texture. The finish is still somewhat short but the wine surely will improve with some more years in bottle. PQR more than excellent at 16,50€/bottle (special offer) in 2023-08. With no caveat a rebuy.

Appearance: Deep ruby with color visible in the tears.
Nose: Pronounced intensity with black cherry, black current, red plums, cedar, baking spices, and mint.
Palate: Medium+ body, medium alcohol, medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins felt on the cheeks and center of the tongue. Medium+ flavor intensity on the palate dominated by black cherry and baking spices. Finish has medium+ length.
Impression: Very good quality Pessac with excellent balance and classic flavor profile.

Ruby in the glass, concentrated core. Aromatic nose of red and black fruit alongside wild mushroom and graphite. Wonderful balance of acid, fruit, alcohol, and tannin. Dusty, dry, moderate length finish with notes of cured meat and bay leaf.

Opaque purple, nose of raspberry pastry. Sweet flavors of maraschino cherry and black fruit. Lots of oak and alchohol on the finish. Might just need time, but not so good today.
