  A pleasing, well-structured presentation of Northern Rhone wine. A beautiful mix of black pepper in savory smoke, potpourri and a generous helping of dark/blue berry jam. The robust tannic structure is sturdy, but not overwhelming.
  
  I wish I had more to see where this would look like a decade or two down the line. I definitely didn't get to spend enough time with it.

  Considering how generous the 2018 Allemand Chaillot was, I was curious how the 2019 Allemand Chaillot was. The 2019 is much more in line with expectations: darker fruited, far heavier tannins, and more layered. Clocking in at 14.5% ABV, the alcohol was masked well, but it was definitely still felt after. Haha, give it time!

  Decanted a few hours and back into the bottle for a few more. Beautiful magenta coloration almost like a barrel sample. So young but the fruit here is so pure it makes opening one worth it. Plums, blackberry, violets, earthy game, smoke, mineral…. The same descriptors different vintage. Consistently epic as you would hope for the price. This needs several more years but will drink nicely throughout its life like all top 1% wines.
