  In a great window now with primary fruit mingling with secondary notes of pepper, meat and undergrowth. Wonderful light texture allowed it to pair quite well with a classical duck preparation in Paris.

  Drank next to the 1994 Chaillot. Pretty nose of red berries, a bit of leather, and spices, with a slight hint of VA. Lots of acidity on the palate with more red cherries, underwood, violets, and a hint of brett. Good structure and nice finish. A lovely wine that could use a few years more in bottle, but ultimately fell short to the superb 94.

  Oh... One of the best wines of today. A great balance between fruitiness and savouriness. Impressively acidic and taut. Intense but light. Fresh but sweet and opulent. This is very serious and very very good.

  Very classy and delicious wine, pleasing structure with silky texture and nice firm acidity. Lots of strawberry and red fruits. Still quite youthful at age 20, but drinking really well right now.

  A perfect time to drink this wine. Woodsmoke and olive laced dark fruits with a deep sense of dark minerals. It shifts and moves with air as the fruit turns more red and some flowers poke out of the top. I'm shut out of the current market for these wines, it seems, but I'm glad to be able to revisit these aged bottles. While there is still enough structure to stand with a big hunk of beef off the grill it is great right now. I'm not sure waiting will get a better showing.
