PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass ("Leaf" day): Pale purplish ruby to the eyes with lots of fine deposits.
Lots of savoury olives, angelica (i.e. red dates + earthy notes), dried herbs notes that is not dissimilar to the newer vintage Domaine Jamet Cote Roties here.
On palate the ultra bright and high acidity sets this apart, but what is also as noteworthy is the level of minerality of this liquid - almost a little tongue-numbing in a nice way. Very pure yet got just the great combination of freshness, complexity of flavours and a good length to the finish.
First experience of this fabled producer and an eye-opening experience! This is 94-95 points to me easily.

Renegade Wine Dinner - Thierry Allemand (Marc Forgione - Tribeca, NYC): This bottle seemed off relative to the '97 Chaillot I tasted in March. It poured very cloudy. The barnyard funk on the nose was similar but the palate here was all shrill acidity - not much else came through. I suspect this was flawed, but not sure what was going on. Not that pleasant to drink.

Lots of barnyard funk on the nose here - not bad for me but some of the other tasters found this offputting. I thought this wine was in a nice place with the savory elements really coming forward along with some earthy forest floor. Fruit less primary. A nicely aged Cornas.

Revenge of the Cornas (Michaeangelo Hotel): Definite split in the group between whether they preferred this or the '01 Reynard. I was a bit more in the later camp, but to be fair there's no way I'd move this from my glass. One of the only wines with some brett, but not in a bad way. Again a bit of that oregon forest floor where you get more of the pine needles and just the sense of refreshment and green. Black fruits. Some flowers poking through. It's a lovely wine.

Olives, blackberries, pepper, chocolate. Darkly formed, velvety texture and concentrated. Fresh but aggressively acid, even tart to some extent.
