Informal dinner, no detailed notes - Opened and poured, I was surprised how ready to drink this Clos de Vougeot is, very delicate but incredibly precise aromas of blue berries, plums and floral elements. What really struck me about this bottle was the balance between the fresh fruit and the sweetness of the fruit (due to perfect timing/picking of grapes). I also appreciated the fact that the oak aromas remained in the background. - On the palate it is smooth and fun to drink, very balanced and the tannins are there but soft and well integrated into a bigger picture. This stuff is made for the long haul, but it is already fun today! Nevertheless, to get more complexity out of it, keep the cases closed fellas. Aeration recommended. - 94point with upside for more

Side-by-side with the 2010. The 2019 is the more rich, supple and open-knit wine at this stage, by a lot. Deliciously sweet and spicy black cherry is certainly primary but providing plenty of early drinking pleasure. Nicely balanced with good poise and excellent Grand Cru concentration. Will be interesting to see if this remains open knit or shuts down over the years -- regardless a wine that should age very well.

Super fresh and quite approachable, this is surprisingly elegant, soft, and pure. It's concentrated and bright with juicy (almost sweet) red fruits with some darker elements to round out the impression. Silky smooth. Pretty gulpable at this stage. More of a middleweight at this point but I suspect it will become grander with time.

Feels deep and broad on the nose, quite open with ripe red fruits, some leafiness and attractive, well-integrated new wood. Some sweetness here, very pretty and elegant with some pleasingly complex gamey Pinot aromas.
Like the Boudots, this is graceful on the palate, very silky and seamless, with a softness, and open personality. Generous, creamy and perfectly elegant and lifted.
