Deep reddish purple in the glass and pretty to look at. The nose opens with breezy cedar and vanilla, followed swiftly in tow by morello cherries, plums, and a generous chocolate-swaddled herbal note of mint and thyme, pipe tobacco. A Juicy and spicy palate with more of those cherries and a long, intense plum note, plush tannins that are nonetheless young, fresh, and assertive, and a finish that lingers with more plum, chocolate, and chewing tobacco on the way back end. This is a baby, will wait 8-10 years before opening another.

The complex nose, with its array of flowers, espresso, black cherries, black raspberries and black plums wide a side of mint focuses you on the glass. But it is on the palate, with its freshness, silky tannins and layers of mineral-edged, vibrant, sweet, fruits with their closing notes of plums, and salty, dark chocolate that seals the deal. This could be the best vintage of Grand Mayne ever produced! Drink from 2025-2050.

Moderate fruit fragrance, rich extraction with nice Merlot fruit dominant on the palate though I know there is some 20% Cab Franc in the blend. Moderate aftertaste. Very similar to the 2019 vintage of this wine I tried a month before. Not especially silky in structure but quite flavorful and enjoyable.

Sehr elegant! 2026-2040 (Verkostet am 8. November 2022 in Zürich) www.vvwine.ch

UGCB tasting Bordeaux 2020 Walkaround tasting so in general just short notes (Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam.): Dark berries, some smoke, beautiful and juicy acidity and tannin and some pleasant oaky flavors.
