Porteno/Bastardo Covid supper (KC's place): This was plain lovely, still primary (I'm guessing the alcohol is helping) but with slight balsamic underpin to the ripe blackberry, sweet spice and softly grippy, though persistent, tannins. The alcohol also lends breadth across the mid palate. Pleasing.

Fabulous. Like a mix of black currant, port and dark chocolate. The nose was blow away and it continued on the palate. A touch of something meaty in there. Juicy and still lively. Will give the next bottles at least 5 years.

Annual Coravin blitz - day one (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Ripe black and red berry fruit. A little earth and clay with a touch of salinity. Dusty sweet spice and dry wood. The palate is a reflection of the nose; complex and interesting. Drying front of mouth grip. Medium plus length. Yum

A good wine, typical McLaren Vale. Lots of intense powerful fruit with blueberry, olive, tobacco. The acidity is good and the tannins are firm and smooth. Its well balanced and yet I ought to score this higher but I can't.
