(Tollot-Beaut Beaune Clos du Roi) High-toned fruit over a depth of dark fruit with hints of oak. Nice texture, lovely purity; the tannins are a little more forward but still quite fine. A super wine.

Very dark rich fruit well extracted and concentrated, slightly vegetal, with tar, smoke and leather sitting lightly on the palate. Some drying of fruit at end of med to long finish but overall holding up pretty well.

This was reticent at first, but opened up nicely over the course of 90 minutes or so. On the nose, you get a fresh, pomegranate/cranberry/tart cherry acidity that just tickles your nose but stops short of VA. On the palate this is pleaant, but a tad thin on thte midpalate with an average finish. A competently executed, nice but unesceptional 1er.
