  • Notes: dull nose, quite hard to get out of the glass. Not the usual Lieser, got the citrus, and wet grass, but not alot else. Save for later. Some petroleum and tertiary notes would suit it. After some time in the glass it develops a bit of pear or sweet fruit.

Mouth: very pleasant in the mouth. While in the mouth it is perfect balanced between sweet and acid. After swallowing the acidity stays for a long time, resulting in the wine staying for quite awhile in the mouth and especially under the lips. It got a nice freshness.

Can be consumed now, but I would wait a few years, on a warm summerday outside it would be perfect. With age I hope it will get the complexity that I personally am missing.

  • First bottle of 6. Sharp and precise acid. You get left with citrus in the back of the mouth. It does not give a lot of fruit aromas. But smells moisty like wet leaves. The wine is very balanced, and the color is very pale.

  • Very pale straw yellow colour.
Peach, lime and some slightly sulphury wet granite.
Very pleasant palate. Very bright and fresh, and certainly feeling ready to drink. Very gentle touch of sweetness, which is immediately balanced in the mouth by a bright acidity. Very attractive and easy, but a bit lacking in depth, at least at this stage, which makes me wonder a bit about possible longevity (or lack of it)?
    Good, but not great.

  • Method: opened 3 hours in advance; started at fridge temp; white wine glass

    Look: pale straw

Nose: lime, white peach, apricot, sea salt

Palate: peach, slight salt, Meyer leon; medium finish of salt, lime, light minerality; low- sweetness; light body; high+ acidity

Overall: Really wonderful tension here, with electrifying acidity. Definitely more lithe than typical Schloss Lieser Kabinetts. Enough complexity to keep it interesting, but more than that, it's just delicious. I would prefer a longer finish. This has no baby fat and is already showing extremely well in this youthful stage. 94 - 95 points. Excellent wine!
