  Color intensity is fading away making it more pale and brick brownish rim is building up.
  
  Still full of fruits, but on a candied and jammy side. Silky tannins are very well integrated now and leave pleasant mouth feel. Wine drinks well and very enjoyable. But hurry up if you have it in your cellar.

  As always, storage is everything. Basically in a refrigerator since the late 1970's. Emerges as old style intense and incisive Bordeaux. Think of the antithesis of the modern style and that will fit. Great palate impact - tobacco box, impressive length. But not at all generous or grapey or mouth fillingly round. Will keep just fine.

  It is not a "WOW"- but a "CHAPEAU"wine. Naturally you cannot expect
  the brilliancy of a 3 years old red, so colourwise you would expext a tired
  wine. But the Kirwan 75 is rather alive. For sure, it past its prime
  however it is still smooth, enjoyable and very satisfying. A fine gift for
  someones 40th birthday next year.

  rating

  Le bouchon ne nous a pas donné beaucoup de misère même si le dernier 1/5 de celui-ci s'est retrouvé dans le fond de la bouteille. Mais que voulez vous, c'est un moment fébrile que d'ouvrir ce type de bouteille, donc on espère toujours que tout se passe bien. Peu de dépôt est observé dans la bouteille, ce qui me surprend un peu...
  
  La robe du vin est d'un magnifique rouge brique pas trop translucide, doté d'une belle intensité, sans réelle différente dans le ton de celle-ci entre le centre et les bord. La couleur fait presque jeune ! Le nez est quand même timide et sera mieux après une bonne demie heure suivant l'ouverture de la bouteille. Il reste du fruit rouge (fraise, cerise), un peu d'épices, mais aussi cuir et sucre brun. Comme dans le cas du 1973 bu il y a quelques mois, ce sont les saveurs et la finesse qu’il y a en bouche qui me séduisent au plus haut point. Encore une fois du fruit rouge, des épices douces, un brin terreux et autres notes évolutives, et malgré le creux perçu en milieu de bouche, c’est la finale très longue sur une finesse inouïe qui charme…
