  • PNP into Zalto Universal glass (“Leaf” day): Medium orange to the eyes.

Incredible level of acidity and minerality here. Just off dry here after all these years. Tea leaves.

    94-95 points.

  • Tasted in a vertical with 1983 & 2010. This one was also singing for the entire 3 hour dinner. Complex & balanced nose of melon, baked apple and honey suckle. Light gold in color. The taste was delicate yet never fading. The 1985 perhaps has a bit less life than the 1983 but I would not be in a hurry to consume either one of them. Having said that, they are both fully mature.

  • Leo's Blind Tasting Group - another highlight, though suffered slightly in contrast to an astounding bottle of the '83 GKA. This was still exceptional though with an array of classic Mosel fruit, florality, and mineral flavours, augmented by mature smoky and burnished notes, with the sweetness beginning to fade somewhat and coming across just lightly sweet. Incredibly complex and elegant, and like the '83, a wonderful wine that I kept revisiting through the evening.

  • Fantastic. Fully mature, showing surprisingly little sweetness at this point but with amazing aromatic complexity. Would have been happy to just and smell this all night, with an incredible scent combining fresh citrus fruit, baked apple, more mature honeyed and burnished notes, and the classic Mosel floral-slatey signature. It's light on its feet with a glossy, round texture - a bit less acidity than I'm usually used to from Prum, but overall a wonderful bottle.

  • Tasted after desserts that were quite sweet and not fair to the wine. good acidity, structure and balance, but simply not enough remaining fruit for the desserts. my bad.
