The wine was very thin, certainly past it's peak by many years, perhaps even decades. Nose was very faint, and the taste followed the weak nose. Color was very light garnet. From the soft nose I could find forest floor, mushroom, black pepper, tobacco, raw meats, and wet dog. The taste was faintly reminiscent of rare steak, with hints of game, raisin, mushroom, lead pencil and bread. The nose and flavor were weak, tannins are fully resolved. I am sure this was a superb wine at one time, but what is left today is less than stellar.

JK's 50th Birthday: Very alive, some vintage sweetness, lots of sediments. 91-92
