Popped and poured. This was really good from the start. Showing sweet fruit and the character of somewhat ripe 2009 vintage along with some secondary development. Dinking well now so not sure why one would continue to age these.

Ripe blackberries and apricots, solidly tooth-gripping tannins, low-med acid. 13.5% Alc. A big rustic bruiser of a Burgundy, not super complex, but a tasty glass. Approachable now, and years of life to go.

(Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru Grand Clos des Épenots) Medium ruby color; talc, ripe cherry, black raspberry nose; intriguing, dried black raspberry, black cherry palate with powdery tannins; could use 2- 3 years; medium-plus finish

BYOB dinner NOTK (Supernova hotel, Rotterdam): Rustic, hint of barnyard, black fruit, cherries, leather. Still very nice, not yet over its peak

Surprisingly fruit forward. Almost jammy. Has acid and still a bit of tannin. But lacking structure. Overall disappointing

Big fruit, salt, dryish- decent, but I liked the 09’ Anne Gros pezerolles much better- fresher fruit, better balance.
