this was nice but had some downsides, on night one it was full-bodied and packed with classic Barolo flavors, dense cherry compote, tea, spiciness (not a Burgundian Barolo for sure), it was a heavyweight throwing punches... a little hot frankly, but its appeal was its intense nebbiolo typicity, on night two immediately upon opening it had settle just a bit and was perfect (and less heat importantly), but then it faded pretty fast and the oak immediately became dominant... felt like this was simply overdone in the making, drink ASAP as it won't get better (very brick'ish in color)

When I opened this I was a little afraid it was on the tail end of its drinking window, but I shouldn't have been. This was lively and energetic with fine but grippy tannins and excellent overall balance. Perhaps at or near peak now but will easily hold for several more years.

About as classical as old-school Barolo can get. Decanted for anout an hour before serving Mature now with notes of cedar and a hint of tobacco on the nose. Very good structure and balance. My last bottle of the 95s - will wait some years for the 97s to mature.

Still drinking nicely. Rose petals on the nose. Rose and dried cherries flavors. Not sure that it has much more time, so drink soon if you have some.
