  • In a great drinking window. I really like this style. Yes a little rustic, but like a fine, old hunting lodge in the country. An earthy nose with assertive tannins, crisp acidity, red fruit and some nutmeg and licorice.

  • Some conflicting notes below here noting a rather rustic and structured wine, but some drying out of fruit. It has plenty of acidity but I’m not particularly long on the trajectory here. Put me in the drink now camp.

  • White focused lunch at Maison Dakota. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Tasted blind.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of tertiary earth, fragrant sous bois, aged leather, dried flowers, pungent sweet herbs. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of minty menthol, tertiary earth, sweet herbs, dusty stony minerality, dark red cherries, dried sour red cherries, dried red plums. Long finish.
Very good quality. Though in a tertiary phase already and fruit on a decline. Time to drink up already. Quite gentle for a Beze.

  • Good depth, highly tannic. More expressive in day 2. Exactly what I expect from pre-2007 Faiveley.

TN: some secondary flavors developing. Still bright red fruit; mainly currant. Green. Highly tannic on the palate and a long finish.

I will drink my last one in 2025 or later

  • Sweet fruits, elegant, savouriness, sweet spices and floral, I really think this is a Chambolle. Good acidity on the entry and loaded with sweet, generous fruits and some spiciness aftertaste. Cloves, mint and dark chocolate. This is showing good mienrality and fine grained tannin though not the depth of the Beze. Good finish and lingering with savouriness.
