  • Medium garnet core, medium rim.
Medium intense red cherries, vanilla and some spice notes. Slightly "new worldy", but with some stalkiness lurking in the background.
On the palate this is medium bodied with expressive red cherry and strawberry fruit, vanilla, spice and hints of earth. It has soft tannins, medium acidity and a reasonable length finish but the (somewhat surprising) unripeness/stalkiness is slightly more evident than on the nose, and does detract somewhat from the overall impression.
Certainly drinking now, this has the structure to age for a few years yet (but it's unlikely to shed the unripeness).

  • Drink up. Past it's prime (which surprises me).
