An Afternoon Tasting Burgundy (Chevalier Fine Wines - Elmhurst IL): Seemed slightly older than 2006, but clearly from a ripe vintage with lots of mature red fruit, earth and slightly sweet spice. Good mineral textures on finish were a highlight and made some of the blind tasters wonder if this were from Chambolle. Very good balance. Time to drink up over the next few years.

Great wine. Probably could still use a few more years but drink great with around 15 minutes of air. Bright and crisp cranberry fruit, some nice flavors of soil and maybe beef blood (it’s better then it sounds) behind it. This is a lovely wine.

Harmonious, graceful and refined wine. Medium to full body, pale to bright ruby color. Intense but delicate red fruits, flowers and mushrooms notes aroma. Strawberry, cherry and currants palate complements by lingering spicy finish. Very attractive and complex, still fresh and easy drinking, well balanced between live berries acidity and silky tannins. Food friendly, best match is veal bourguignon. Open about half hour ahead. Serve 17º - 22º. Drink now.

According to my notes, this is the 5th bottle I've tried of this wine, no stinkers in the lot. Still young, fresh, and lovely.

Took a bit to open up. Very feminine, but noticeable tannin. Tart pie cherry is the dominant fruit.
