Gang of 4 in Covid19 times; Bordeaux, Pessac (@ RW): Deep and mature bouquet with some smoke, cedar and stable impressions. On the palate a beautiful wine with dark berries, chocolate, graphite, sweet spices, vanilla, cedar, licorice, autumn forest, beautiful acidity and bitterness. Pleasant and round tannin. At its peak now, but no hurry.

Dark ruby color. There’s a little sediment in the bottle, so careful pouring. It was served a bit cold, but the nose is already very intense with several spices, cedar, tobacco and some mint. The oak has really done a great job in this wine. On the palate it’s medium bodied with great balance. The tannins are very soft and it has a real long finish. I still taste it hours after finalising the bottle. Very impressive. I think this is perfect for drinking now.

Beautiful colours like red velvet fading to a dusky brick rim with good colouring to the the viscous legs. Tremendous nose, lovely warm red fruit, cedar, perhaps a hint of pepper but overwhelmingly warm and ripe. It doesn't disappoint on the palate, carrying across that same flavour spectrum backed by a fair amount of tannin that gives a drying, yet still rich, finish. There's good acidity too and perhaps this with the tannin could upset some, particularly if the wine were served a little cool. It's not spectacularly long but nor does it disgrace itself in this regard. My feeling is that this will hold together for another three years but it is in a nice place right now. Carried on putting on weight for hours after opening and I'd now estimate that this wine will hold together for up to 5 years.

- Garnet color. It's balanced and has flavours of black currant with a medium/full body. Oily texture with a long finish.
