  • Still a dark purple/red colour. A bit of a floral touch on the nose, but this is primarily about deep dark fruits - think blackcurrant and plums, maybe some dark berries too. Hints of eucalyptus but pretty restrained compared to some Coonawarra cabs. The depth of fruit and length of flavour are unquestionable. However, not a lot of tertiary development and a bit of stewed fruit coming through. Feels likes it’s just getting old rather than developing any real level of complexity.

So overall a very nice wine but lacking the complexity for a higher score, and I’m honestly unsure about whether this wine would develop in a positive way in the future.

  • Day one: Its Coonawarra qualities shine through with eucalyptus prevalent on the noise. A tad 'stewed' but balanced out with some nicely integrated tannins. I'm no longer a fan of Australian reds but this was interesting and enjoyable (though no longer my preferred style).

  • Excellent, 13.5% alc.
Colour: deep black berry, bright edges
Bouquet: black and red berries, plums, old leather, mint, white pepper, tobacco,
Palate: as bouquet, sour cherries, earthy, dusty, smooth and velvety but massive soft tannins, furry acidity, vanilla oak, long clean dry finish.

  • Inky purple, eucalyptus on the nose, medium bodied and very fruit driven. Was hoping for more. Whilst not as bad as some, still finding the Aussie reds too syrupy for my liking.

  • Clear dark purple in colour. Clean nose of black fruit and floral. Dry, med acidity, med+ body, elegant tannins, cassis, blackberry, vanilla, and floral on palate. nice finish. Big wine, but not overly complex for the price. Still on the fence for Australian cabernets.
