This was a real surprise and a stunner. Bought at auction with no label left. Still quite youthful and a beautiful nose. Fruit still very evident and soft tannins, yet some acidity and grip on the backend and a rather long finish. Very much like a Bordeaux, though no green pepper and similar to a Isole Olena Collezione Privita.

Pulled this one out of the Science Closet for fun. We've owned this wine since release and its been stored pretty well. It was the last of several that we purchased. It was double decanted an hour or more before drinking with dinner. The cork was extremely fragile and there was a fair amount of sediment. But i could tell right away that the wine was going to be okay. It has lost a lot of fruit but was fun to drink. It kept opening up as the evening went on and still exhibited classic (but aged) Napa Characteristics. There was a bit left to try the next day. It was still good; perhaps better. This experience is consistent with many other old Robert Mondavi Cabs. that I've had the pleasure to try. They seem to hold up. Clearly this vintage is now a curio but it was still fun to drink on a special occasion.

Lovely wine. Very smooth with jammy undertones. Wonderful drink. Probably at its best or just falling from its peak.

I'm afraid these 90's bottles are shot. This one was cloudy amber and no longer drinkable.
