94pts has this wine with 1st growth and 2nd growths at a tasting it stood up very well again daunting line up! showed earthy tones lots of leather and earthy soil to go along with it's blackberries and cherry tones with a long deep finish! thank GOD I have a few more of these should go another 5 years easy

Medium to pale garnet with hints of brown in colour and a wide watery rim. On the nose it's clean with a light to medium intensity aromas of iodine, seashells, dried fruit and old wood. All nicely integrated. On the palate it is sweet, fresh, good acidity with hints of dried fruits, old wood. A bit dried out at first but quite delicious as the palate adjusts and the wine opens up.The alcohol holds together this slightly austere but elegant wine well and likely to appeal to traditional claret lovers. Likely to disappoint lovers of bold, big fruit.I am looking forward to having this with dinner which is a Claridges style chicken pie. Don't keep this wine too long as it will dry out in the near future.

Still drinkable, but a little over the top: reduced flavor
