This is high quality Barolo. 21 years later it is perfectly integrated. Great classic and mature nose. It is lean but full. Acid, extract and tannin are in great balance. Finish is medium plus. Very under-rated bottle.

[Tasted double blind] Pert fresh raspberry fruit, some solvent volatility, tar, tea, dry flowers, interesting nose. Big acidity, tar, sneaky tannins structure that has me leaning towards Nebbiolo. Quite bright color still so I'm thinking 10 year old Barolo/Barbaresco.

Decanted for a few hours - obviously not enough. Looked very young, no bricking at all. Started with a nice bouquet, but when tasted, it appreared very acidic, with almost no fruit showing. 2 hours later, some fruit started to show, and the promising nose gives me hope, but right now this bottle did not impress. After following for another hour, the acids started to subside a bit, and more fruit and violets and roses could start to poke thru, but it was not at all balanced. I will hold my next bottle for another 5 years.

This isn’t showing much right now, even with a few hours of air. Classic nose of dried floral, tar, and red fruits but it’s a bit thin and restrained in the middle. There is plenty of tannic structure and some oakiness remains but I wonder if there is enough fruit to go the 2-5years more that this needs to fully integrate and evolve.
