Exceptional wine at its peak. Nose is decadent, mature, complex and powerful. Notes of decaying tropical fruit, botrytis in the form of beeswax, dried flowers and many other aromas difficult for me to describe. Palate is medium to full bodied with huge extract so that high acidity is barely perceptible. Flavorful long and utterly drinkable. One of the great white wines of the world.

A gorgeous wine at a perfect stage to drink. Medium to dark yellow-gold. Fantastic nose with candied apricot, mango, passion fruit, honey, bergamot and obvious signs of botrytis. Full-bodied, rich and ripe fruit, noticeable sweetness and balancing acidity. Very long, spicy aftertaste. A beauty. Excellent qpr.

Dark yellow/golden color. Very expressive on the nose but also very complex. In terms of aromas, there is a sweet character on the foreground, with dried yellow fruits alongside with honey/honeycomb as well as aromas of wax or something. Full bodied and very well balanced, with an incredibly velvety texture. Same aromatic character on the palate. Medium+ finish. Great wine!

Etna Erupts Again Wine Tasting (Oinoscent Wine Bar, Athens, Greece): Another stunning white from F. Hirtzberger that proved once again that this is one of the greatest white wine producers in the world. Fairly dark straw with some golden hues. Sweet nose of tropical fruits like passion fruit alongside apricot, herbs, honeysuckle and green pepper. Full-bodied and dense but with vibrant acidity and a very long, peppery aftertaste. Paired perfectly with a spicy roasted salmon filet. On par with a top Burgh for a fraction of the price.

Outstanding gruner veltliner! Nose is huge and very complex, showing honey, pepper, tropical fruits, dried fruits. Almost full bodied, taste is very long and complex. Acidity is huge but very well balanced. Taste is same as nose, very loong!! Fantastic wine!
