(Mas de Daumas Gassac) Bright medium dark ruby red color with pale meniscus; nice cassis, berry, cream and blackberry nose; lovely, maturing, cassis, tart berry, with ripe round fruit and beginning of secondary, tobacco and cedar, flavors; medium-plus finish 93+ pts.

Delicious, with beef and mushroom stew. Quiet, smooth, long, harmonious, beautifully scented. Decanted just before it was served. Enjoyed by all at lunch.

Strangely enough Mrs H (who tends to be less keen on older wines than me) quite liked this to start with even tho' I felt it had faded completely!

Deep ruby, some browning. Lovely aromatic nose. Plenty dark blackcurrant, red plum. Dark smoky traces, tobacco, backed up by a gamey venison side order. Plenty acidity, tannins really well resolved but still a solid backbone. Plenty complexity, medium plus length. Highly enjoyable. Did the long decant recommended on the label and it really worked.

Very fine and elegant with lots of fruit and complexity from tertiary flavours of brush and forest leaves.

Rustic bouquet with dark berries like blueberries and blackberries. On the palate the same berries, green bell pepper, fresh acidity and sticky tannin. Juicy and elegant wine.
