91-92; nice cote-rotie but lacks verve, a bit thin in the mid-palate (vintage), but still very nice, elegant, blue and black fruits, in great shape with light white pepper, more pronounced the next day. Excellent with pasta and meat and vodka sauce.

Coravin. Medium-deep ruby; medium-plus aromatics, blueberry, meaty garrigue, slight spice, complex nose; palate is medium bodied, fresh medium to medium-plus acidity throughout, medium alcohol in good balance (12.5% on the label), fruit is present but less obvious than on the nose; medium length finish. A balanced and lovely Northern Rhone, typical for 2008 which is to say a bit lighter, more elegant, less concentrated form of Northern Syrah, but perfectly pleasant as a table/food wine. Don't pay anywhere near the $140 it shows on wine searcher... this is a good $50 wine. 90

Coravin. Medium-deep ruby; nose has medium intensity aromatics, red fruit, meatiness, slight iodine minerality; palate is medium bodied, medium acid, balanced medium tannin, still some primary blueberry fruit, lacks a bit of depth of flavor and fades quickly through the midpalate; finish is short-medium. Very similar to my last note, this is a wine with pretty good Northern Syrah character on the nose and palate, but lacks the depth of flavor, complexity, and length to make this more than pretty good. 89

Very drinkable, balanced, nose a bit closed but still all nic rhone characteristics.
