Bottle breathe for 2 hours. Drink alongside with Jadot BM 99 and Vougeraie BM 99. Surprisingly, the Vougeraie BM 08 opened up very nicely, with perfume nose with hint of violet, the palate is fruity with red fruit, flower and medium finishing. It involved during 2 hours in the glass. Nice efforts. Very close (nearly par-par) with BM 99 of the same Domaine.

United Cellars Grand Cru Burgundy tasting (Harbour 220/L15 131 Macquarie Street): slightly funky, slightly smoke, almost stalky, polished oak, cedar notes, cream, black over red fruit. Lots going on but it's all quite in balance - if you can have a balanced nose that is. More of the same on the palate but things here are a bit more out of whack; a sourness to the fruit, a slightly too drying note to the muted but chalky tannin, still impressively long but, at this juncture, not for me. Will it improve with time?

Blind. Elegant wine, violets and red cherries on the nose. Highly toned, with a slightly bitter finish. Very structured and lingering. Obviously young. Excellent potential.

Nose coffee, cherries, licorice, blackberries, violets, hazelnuts, herbs, warm and still fresh. Fine and complex.
