Well integrated fruit and acidity, powerful nose of smoke, earth, and deep red fruit, and a long finish combine to make a wonderful drinking experience.
There may be many years of drinking pleasure ahead, but it's unlikely that my sole remaining bottle will see such a future - it's too good as is at present, a splendid example of all that Burgundy can be.
Rated +2 on a scale of -1 to +3.

Lighter in color with slight bricking at edges. Tannins are tight and hard. High acid. After 2 or more hours in the decanter things started to soften somewhat. Cranberry, bright cherries. Still not showing a lot of fruit or depth in general. I hope this gets some legs in a couple more years.

Some slight bricking. An overlay of peaty humus/woodsy undergrowth on the nose which is attractive, but palate is sharp and dominated by cranberry/cherry pit. A vigorous "Fourrier shake" helped the wine relax a bit and released some gentle strawberry/riper cherry flavors and made the wine more palatable. A slight tertiary fruitcake note. Not much depth or persistence. Poor qpr.
