Complex nose, with notes of roast beef, campfire smoke, blackberry, paprika, and peppercorn. Palate is juicy and slightly watery. Intense blackberry flavour, with hints of chocolate and lemon zest. Very open and ready to drink.
Totally exceeded my expectations. Fresh, full flavoured, great presence of fruit, acidity and some spice & savoury background. Not overly complex and possibly not classically Rhone but very very enjoyable.
Closed nose, with dense fruit (raspberry, red cherry, blackberry, liquorice) and hints of spice and cured meat (pastrami, lemon rind, pepper, tarragon). Palate shows strong, spicy, meaty fruit, but it's old and dusty. There's some tannin and acid, but no structure. It was ok with food, but pretty disappointing considering how nice the nose was. Tastes slightly oxidised; I blame the cork.

(GUIGAL COTES DU RHONE RED) VaynerPASS; NOSE-like Mr. Clean, minty green, fresh cut grass, awkward; TASTE-"fake wine"; it's smooth & silky, nice mouth feel, not to be confused w/ high quality wine, solid for $9, but not very complex or rich; RP-88, GV-86
