Sherry Dinner - mind blown...liver may be as well: WOTN. should add more points for being a birthyear wine :) ..but even without that, incredible. bitter oranges, almonds, deeply aromatic, enchanting notes of sweet fruit. mid is rich and yet keeps a lightness. unending finish.

A Texan comes to town and we gather at a new hot spot in Jersey City. (Thirty Acres): Loads of volatile acidity on the nose and palate. Typically nutty, saline, high acid and oxidative, though there's nice intensity and depth here. I just don't like oxidative wines, but if you're a fan of dry Sherry, this would be quite compelling to you. B-.

Classified as a Palo Cortado. 500 bottles made. Fortified to 18%. In barrel for 18-20 years. Needs a large amount of air to release the nose - but ... wow! when it's released ... glorious: initially seems very dry and a touch astringent, but blossoms into creamy fruit. Quite un-sherry like on the attack. Rich, elegant fruit with some sherry characteristics. Really very very interesting indeed and very excellent indeed. Fascinating stuff.

An excellent Palo Cortado. Nutty but with notable fruit. Intense and enjoyable.
