This is just beautiful. Fresh, deep ruby fruit wrapped in a light cloak of green - just enough to let you know it's cab franc. Bit of graphite and lovely cut. What a brilliant producer.

hasn't lost a thing in the last decade, other than a touch of the sweetness, as one would expect. delicate, ephemeral and delightful.

this tastes and looks like an old, worn out ac, not a 13 y/o gc. past its prime, if it had one.

corked! have had really bad luck with this producer. seems that 50% of the wines I've opened over the past decade have been corked. when they're clean, they're delicious wines, but with the rated of corked wines, they get a bit spendy!

just a delightful wine. good spot on the maturity curve, lots of fruit and a layer of leathery, meaty tones. soft, easy on the palate. no need to decant for hours, just open and enjoy.

still very young. profile is very layered: first fruit with lots of cut, then richness and finishes quite long with more subtle fruit. lovely texture and became more balanced as the evening wore on. I wouldn't place this in the pantheon of great white burgs, but very good nonetheless.

corked! Have had really bad luck with this vintage. I think at least 3 of these have been corked.
White - Off-dry

wonderful fresh mint on the nose and in the mouth. crisp, clear, fresh with yellow fruit on the long finish. you could age this, but really, why?

not much fruit hanging on, so drink up.

Over the hill...all the fruit is gone and it's just left with wood and iodine flavors.

spectacular balance of fruit and acidity, richness and liveliness. cashmere in the mouth with a wonderful note of mandarin oranges. just as delicious as I remember the bottle from a few years back.

blech! harsh wood dominates over red fruits. decanted for 2 hours. does this have the stuff to turn into a tasty wine? would be surprised.

harsh, acidic and ashy/green flavors. for those who love 2004's.

This wine reminds me of why I fell in love with Burgundy: clear, crisp, elegant, multi-faceted and lithe. The wine won't please those who favor the big and bold.

CORKED!!!! I would guesstimate about 30% of Roulot's wines that I've opened have been corked...vintages from 2002-2006. As much as I love these wines, I will never buy them again unless I'm at a resto and can immediately get another bottle. What a drag!

much more enjoyable than it was 6 years ago. acidity seems to have increased and sweetness has settled down. wonderful fresh ginger layered over the fruit.

Why would a winemaker ruin the s-b grape by building an oak house around it?

a few years ago, this wine was dominated by buttery oak. well, not much has changed. the butter dominates the fruit and structure. not especially enjoyable in my book. a bit tiring on the palate.

such a nice wine. pretty fruit, licorice and mouthwatering acidity. this is what real wine is supposed to taste like and a great companion at the table.

not so sure my palate is on track today, but this smelled fine...deep fruits a bit of meat and herbs....but in the mouth, nobody home. short finish. see if it changes overnight.
nothing new on day 2. massive color and texture but otherwise, pretty empty and closed up.

nice nose of marmalade, sweet and sour sauce!, caramel...nice complete finish of dried yellow fruits HOWEVER, in the mouth this wine is painful - so tart, bitter and acidic that I couldn't swallow it. maybe a day in the fridge will help?
day 2 - time did not cure the ills of this wine. still arresting on the nose and finish, but harsh acidity bitterness were brutal in the mouth. couldn't swallow the stuff.

fabulous wine. just enough age to soften the tannins a bit. very meaty with a good jolt of acidity. perfect partner to a hamburger. long fruit/meat finish. excellent with food and no need to rush in drinking this.

beautiful golden color but surprisingly shallow in flavors and aromas. even after an hour of air this was pretty muted. the finish was the best part, tropical fruits without the soft edges, good acidity and a touch of sweetness.

has opened up in the last year and what a wonderful wine. terrific red fruits, medium bodied that pairs well with food and a long fruit driven finish. was even better on the second day. very under appreciated producer.

wicked harsh tannins on the finish that make the flavors drop off a cliff. huge wine on the front end: thick, tarry but a good chunk of the fruit has left the house. don't see much upside in holding this longer and didn't find any pleasure in drinking this.

good core of red fruit and has a fine dose of acidity. still quite fresh. light bodied, but pleasant in the mouth and a medium finish. drinking fine right now.

5 years since the last bottle of this. big mistake. pickles overwhelm on the nose and palate. bitter and if there is fruit hidden somewhere, I couldn't find it.

dark gold. bits of oxidation on the nose beginning to show but otherwise, a very lovely wine. honeysuckle, white fruit and a bit of caramel. rich texture with a bit of snap and a very long, beautiful finish. drink up to avoid losing this one to premox.

roasted fruits, heavy and thick, harsh in the mouth with medium finish. this tilts heavily towards the modern side of cdp, so if you enjoy lithe, elegant wine, put this back on the shelf. not enjoyable to my palate.

deep red cherries and menthol. alcohol pokes through on the nose. not much happening on the palate other then good texture and has a short finish. perhaps it will flesh out a bit by tomorrow?

slightly oxidized on the nose....lots of pears and alcohol poking through. a bit clumsy in the mouth, could use a dash of acidity. wouldn't age this one. short mid-palate and medium finish. overpriced at
$40.
