Easily 92+. I definitely get the sappy, balsamic and baked fruit notes others have reported. Yum.

Showing well for an off year CdP. Nicely balanced... some notes: raspberry, blueberry, clove, smoked meat and limestone.

Pretty lightweight at first but coming out of its shell after 2 hours. Capped and will revisit tomorrow.

Nicely balanced, particularly as the night has gone on. Blackberries, coffee syrup, tobacco, herbs. Very smooth!

I agree with a couple of prior tasters that this does not feel like a Chianti. That is not to say it was not enjoyable. It absolutely was. Super bright cherry and floral and plum. Also nice and chewy.

I agree with others that his had a bit of mustiness and barnyard funk, but that felt like part of its character more than anything else. Well balanced. We enjoyed.

Muted and dumb at first but now at 3+ hours opening up. Freshness is all on the nose, with florals, mint, and herbs. So in that sense a win because I can sit here and swirl it in my glass and really enjoy. Palate however does not stand up to the nose and it is more muted fruitwise with a bunch of leather and tar on the backside.

Definitely missing ... something. Yet if measuring by QPR this was a fair bit cheaper ($35) than most of the rest of my Rancia stash and in that sense it is a very good wine - definitely easily pegged as a Rancia vs the still typically great CCR. But compared to Rancia in a stellar vintage (2010 for one) this is more like a little brother than a twin.

Not as blatantly acidic as the first two bottles but not much to write home about.

A bit of a mature palate. Still, it went quickly.

This one had a bit of a mature nose. Curious.

Bittersweet to finish this series. The cork had the most amazing nose. Oodles of brambleberries.

A much enjoyed bottle. Picking up the notes from Somm David T but this bottle was in a word... radiant. Glad to have chosen this one vs. my other 2008s.

Reasonably consistent with most written notes here, I don’t rate it as highly as the highest, but not bad.

I can totally see the wacky notes - it did have a latent fizzy thing going on. Still, it was enjoyable enough after settling down.

Far far better than the first of my two bottles. Beautiful color with that characteristic tawny tinge. JWG's last notes have it pretty spot on. Alot of very dark cherry, cedar oil, rose petal, menthol nose, tobacco and leather.

Somehow I am managing to drink a bottle of this once per year almost to the day. Crazy! Very fresh nose with all of the typical Felsina signatures, but this is definitely a lesser vintage. The palate is not as bright as the nose would imply, but still enjoyable.

That split didn’t even last 30 minutes. Was a little worried with some seepage on the foil, but this was nice. This is definitely a warm vintage Rancia with a very full, big cherry, almost cough syrupy, raisiny palate.

Not much to add over Andrea1975. Intense wallop of blueberry, cherry, dried leaf, smokiness and lavender. A little licorice too. This does need 2-3 hours to really shine, so plan accordingly.

For all the Fontalloro I’ve had this was a bit of a bummer bottle. Bummer in the way that you might have hoped for a little more, but still very solid. This bottle was a little muted, showed more leather and chocolate and fig than the sandalwood and fresh cut mint that the last bottle of 2011 I had.

Edit: I left a healthy glass in the bottle overnight and it blossomed. So I will give this a +1.

I have to echo most of what's been previously said about this wine. I'm going to enjoy seeing what happens to this and its sister (La Louisiane) over the next few years.

My experience with this is much like the past few notes. A thoroughly enjoyable bottle of wine, much more mellow and balanced than the Carnival of Love, with more leather and more anise and more dark chocolate. Some would call this a fruit bomb. I say, if you accept it for what it is, it’s not bad!

Very consistent with the last bottle especially as it warmed up to room temp. Great value in this vintage.

Echo doublemagnum. I paired this with a peking style duck that I rotisseried. Perfect. I find myself desparately wanting more of this yet not wanting to pay the going rate for it.

Consistent with the last bottle, you best be pairing this with some serious grilled meat (anticuchos skirt this evening), but it is solid and has achieved great balance for such a big wine.

1 of 6.

Dark fruit, leather, dark chocolate, but also herbs and a bit of olive tapenade. Tastes more or less exactly what I’d imagined a Cab from Berardenga would taste like. And that’s a good thing.

Agree with PJHR. I taste lots of raspberry, florals, maybe just a little bit of savoriness and a balanced finish. A good mystery buy.

Exceptional balance, dried cherries, roses, raspberry, leather, tar, and latent tea. Very open at 6 hours. Was great early but maybe open it a little earlier in the day next time? :)

That's a good Barolo and the 500th bottle I've recorded on CT. Looking forward to seeing this age.

Echo Mazik and Quaffing. Maybe it’s a bit of corona effect but this is one of the better bottles of wine I’ve had in a while. Front palate sweetness, lavender, limestone dust, very nice balance. Needed a good couple hours of air.

Nicely aged Brunello in a very good place. Still a fair bit of tannin that may not balance out before the fruit goes. Also a tiny hint of maturity/oxidization on the nose, but that might be bottle variation based on recent notes.

Tight; needed 2+ hours of air. Fruit slow to emerge, but it did.
Day 2: alot of maturity (surprising), cherry nose, earth, leather and tobacco in the mouth. Some unresolved bitterness from tannins.
1-2 pts upside.
