Needs about 1 hr in decanter and then ready to go. Modern styled Bordeaux with bigger legs and dark fruit: blackberries, blueberries, tobacco, coffee, chocolate, and tar on the nose, palate smoothened after decant, similar dark fruit, licorice, tobacco and chocolate on the palate with slightly edgy tannins, however balanced and decadent. Medium slightly bitter finish. Good wine.

Cork was wine stained and fell apart upon opening but wine was beautiful underneath. Decanted 2 hrs, nose of black currants, plums cherries, violets, caramel, notes of iron and truffles. Palate came together at the end of decant, smooth with no hard edges, still very plentiful and sweet dark fruit with rounded tannins although this wine can go on for at least 5 more years given their potency, secondary and tertiary aromas of forest floor, truffles, caramel, herbs, old cedar and peppery on the finish which is incredibly long. Outstanding!

Good wine, but probably not good QPR. No decant, nose of cassis, blueberries, blackberry, licorice, plums, cedar and herbs. Palate is medium bodied, tannins are still present but not harsh, fine acidity to balance sweet black and blue fruit. Medium finish.

Clear red ruby, classic gevrey nose with strawberries, candied cranberries, forrest floor, underbrush, tobacco hints and pepper. Palate is medium with tannins slightly sharp and perhaps needing more integration, improving with air, savory red fruit with peppery finish. Should improve to 92-93 pts in a few years.

Criminally underrated vintage and Palmer is one of the wine of the vintage. I have and opened VCC 2004 and Palmer showed 1-2 points better. Needs short decant and opens up with nose of black and blue fruit, currants, cherry, barnyard and truffles, pipe tobacco and cedar, cloves and anise. Palate is very smooth, polished, with fine grained tannins and rich plums and blueberries with secondary notes. Finish is medium but great wine overall.

Beautiful dark ruby color and tremendous nose of cassis, blackberries, cherries, roasted espresso, pencil, roses, pipe tobacco with floral elements. Palate is medium bodied with blackberries, plums, currants, tobacco, truffles with suave tannins with long finish. Everything is very balanced and polished. Peak drinking for next 5 years.

This did the best after 2 hours of air when it fully came together on the palate but nose was amazing right from get go. Deep red fruit with notes of truffles, wet earth, forrest floor taragon, pepper, spices. Palate is the best at 2 hours mark with strawberries, cranberries, truffles note along with notes of black pepper and herbs. Long finish. Paired with duck magnet with risotto.

Approachable at this young age with 30 min - 1 hour decant. Nose initially muted but then slowly revealing black and blue fruit: blackberries, blueberries and cherries with pronounced vanilla and hint of licorice reduction, mocha and cocoa and tobacco. Palate is full bodied with sweet black and blue fruit extraction, dusty potent tannins and background adequate acidity. Finish is medium. Should improve a bit with age in the bottle. Crowd pleaser. 92-93 pts for now.

The best Sauvignon Blanc I have tried. Rich nose of tropical flavors of pineapple, lemon rind, grapefruit, kiwi, some green apple, with notes of caramel and vanilla and green grass. Palate is full bodied with rich texture of grapefruit and other tropical fruit and juicy mouth puckering acidity and long mineral laced finish. Outstanding!

Drank from Magnum. Cork was very well preserved. After decanting 45 min wine started singing. Classic St. Julien with rich nose of black fruit predominantly blackberries, blueberries, currants and cherry with secondary characteristics of tobacco, cedar and cola. Palate is full of blackberries and currants grained with fine tannins and balanced acidity. Finish was a bit short but very smooth. Enjoyed with ribeye steak. This has few more years to go.

What a wine! Had it with grilled lobster tails and it was drinking beautifully with it but also excellent on its own. Golden yellow in color nose has bouquet of apple tart, pears, peach cobbler pie, buttery vanilla, lemon oil, cashew nuts, white flowers and herbal notes of dill. Palate is extremely balanced and polished of orchard fruit with tropical fruit notes in harmonious package with lively acidity and long tangy finish. 97-98 pts.

PnP. What an amazing vintage from this single vineyard Chardonnay. Nose is rich with matchstick, apples, grapefruit, peaches, cashew nuts, hints of lemon curd and sea spray. Palate is medium to full bodied, grapefruit, apples with tropical hints, elevated acidity with same richness and creamy texture fully evident and long finish. I liked this touch more than Powder House same 2017 vintage. Could get even a little better in a couple of more years but no need to hold back.

I am so glad I did not drink it few years ago and let it develop. It's utterly delicious now. Goldens straw color, nose of orchard apples, poached pear, nectarines with hints of pineapple, buttery brioche, almonds. Palate is full bodied with orchard fruit intermingled with lemon custard and pineapple, creamy texture, lifted up by great acidity, finishing long and pure.

Bottle needed 2 hours to fully opened. Initial nose was quite interesting with red fruit of cherries, strawberries, raspberry jam, forrest and freshly tilled earth with notes of Chinese five spice and Sichuan peppercorns. After few hours additional notes of tobacco and truffles appeared. Palate is quite complex with red and some black fruits, spicy, with penetrating acidity and lively tannins. Finish is quite long and peppery. This will only get better with additional cellaring for another 5 years. Potential 95-96 pts.

This is good value Bordeaux. Decanted 1 hour, dark ruby color, nose of cassis, cherries, blackberries, menthol, pipe tobacco, pencil shavings and freshness. Palate is medium body, blackberries, currants, cherries, same tobacco and pencil lead with slightly edgy swath of tannins, good acidity and medium-short finish. Would have given higher score if more complexity and longer finish but this is good for the vintage. Can drink now with short decant or hold-this will keep for 10 more years.

This wine opened up nicely after about 30 minutes in a the glass after initially being muted on the nose. Green apples, pears, lemon peel, some white peach and whine flower hints with mild brioche and hazelnut notes. On the palate medium bodied, orchard and tropical fruit and yeasty buttery notes I found acidity quite present in this wine despite earlier comments and decently long finish. I think this will get a bit better with age as well. Overall great wine! 93 pts

Fully mature Nuits St. Georges, no decant needed, quite aromatic with red and black fruit, freshly tilled earth, cedar, truffles, incredible freshness with medium body palate of the same red and black fruit, cola, soil and pepper with powdery, well integrated and resolved tannins. Medium finish otherwise would give it 94-95 pts.

Nicely aged Montrachet. Nose of pears, green apples, lemon curd, pineapple with hints of almonds and acacia and warm brioche, overall nose is rather subtle but very complex. Palate is of lemons, apples, vanilla and pineappple with hints of butterscotch and with piercing acidity to balance richness and minerality of flintstone on the finish. Medium to long finish. Loved it. Better than current reviews suggest. Very contrasting to fruity Cali Chardonnays.
