Classic chambolle pearly texture, earth and game, bit of mandarin, really pretty, but definitely ready to drink and not much improvement in the glass

Liquid green apples is the perfect description. Not the most complex, bit of that stony minerality, very round and linear. Perfect patio pounder, no sign of premox

From a half bottle. Hint of age, but complex, rich, and some citrus, good minerality, very enjoyable

Oxidized. From a restaurant cellar. Dark yellow, caramel, nuts

I was expecting a little bit more, soft palate and a little bit of cedar, could use a bit more acidity, as the night progressed the tannins began to show, revisited the next day and it was gone. Lacking in intensity. Ok, but not great

gold in color, some toffee and oxidized characteristics. Eventually fell off on the finish revealing some acidity, much less complexity than the 84 Coche

gold in color, had that buttery nuttiness, a bit ripe, but explosive and complex on the palate with a very persistent complex finish. Improved in the glass for a few hours

Blind: very ripe with loads of tannin. Someone guess CA, but there was so much complexity and loads of layers. Need another 10 years at least.

very ripe, at first showing quite a bit of alcohol and exotic flavors. Fruit opened up and became more floral covering the alcohol. After a bit there was some purple marker on the nose. Definitely mature, but not oxidized.

Tons of sulfur with a really ridiculously long cork. Couldn't get much with all the sulfur, left the bottle out until lunch the next day... really pure, great citrus acidity, pear, apricots. Really nice wine

Very aromatic and floral. Drank well out of the gate at lunch, lots of pear and peach. Very pure with light acidity. Then the oak began to show through big time and out came the tannins. Best to let this settle down for awhile.

Out of mag - a little oxidative, very nutty, lots of hazelnut and butterscotch. Very fine bubbles, improved in the glass over the course of a few hours. Not my favorite vintage of Krug but a very good champagne.

Drank at the Studio - definitely no sign of premox, light in color, tons of wet stone and minerality. Less fruit, more white flowers and citrus acidity. Good structure and incredibly pure and flashy (less lean). Really great example of the vineyard.

Surprisingly shut down. At first some really tart acidity, but after a few hours the wine began to open and cover the acidity, showing some rich honeysuckle, botrytis, and a touch of oak. A beautiful wine but not in a good place at the moment.

Really young and tight. Good acidity, soft tannins, ripe young fruit. Lots of black licorice, tobacco, cassis, baking spices and vanilla. This was a perfectly stored bottle and has plenty of time before its ready.

Nose smelled a bit of play-dough, not as much acidity as I expected, but incredibly flashy, rich and showy. The fruit was beautiful and very pure, white flowers and almonds, but not the best pairing for sushi. Preferred the acidity of the '01 for the meal

Bright citrus acidity, very focused and precise, pure fruit, even a bit of tannin giving the wine fantastic structure and length. Preferred over the '02 and perfect for sushi

Nice for the price point. Wouldn't have guessed '99. Started out a little closed, but began to open up a bit. Texture was the best part, good aromatics, forest floor and mushrooms, a little clipped on the finish.

Funny...the label said 2005 Clos de la Roche, but the cork said '00 Morey St Denis. I was pretty upset until I tasted the wine. Really pretty, very expressive. Delicate mouth feel, aromatic, and soft. Showing incredibly well right now, and judging by the other notes it has integrated quickly and softened out. Hopefully though I wont find anymore of those

Beautiful, soft, pure, aromatic, great texture and balance. Still very young and a bit tight, short on the palate. Definitely needs to be tucked away for awhile. The '88 was much more open.

Very oxidative, unlike the collection which seemed fresh and pure. Dark color for the age, but lots of bubbles and pop. Notes of sherry, nut and coffee. Probably not a vintage to age, lacking in acidity and structure, but beautiful now and very complex.

Served blind my first guess was Clos de la Roche just couldn't decide between Ponsot and Dujac. It had that classic Clos de la Roche richness in texture. Incredibly rich dark blackberry fruit, round and silky, very well structured and built to age. Drinking really well but will be great with serious cellar time.

This was popped and poured out of mag and definitely in an awkward phase. Unfortunately I did not get to see it evolve as part of the group we were with polished it off rather quickly. It was very disjointed on the nose, fruit was muted and shut down and therefor unable to cover some herbal stemmy notes. Much too young to judge it now

This did not hold up to expectations. I love Rousseau in almost all vintages, even the Chambertin and Beze in '04, but this was not as good as his other vintages of the wine. Lots of acid on the nose, plum and cherry fruit with oak spice. The fruit was a little one dimensional and very ripe. It began to open up and expand out on the finish, but never got exciting. Needs time in cellar or serious decant

More caramel, toffee and sherry than the '69. Darker in color and not as fresh. It still had the peach but not as distictive and the sherry flavors were a bit more powerful than the fruit. Still had that biscuit note and improved in the glass. This tasted exactly the same as the last two bottles which all came from different sources. These just dont seem to be holding up as well as the '69 and '66

Saved by some champagne at a Bordeaux tasting. Rather light in color, good acidity, very fresh little bubbles. Peaches, apricots and citrus, with some caramel and almond biscuits. The third glass sat in front of me for 5 hours and kept getting richer and the fruit more distinctive. Not as good as the '66 but better than the last two '64s

Everyone else seemed to love this wine. The fruit seemed a little one dimensional in flavor and there were slight tones of sour cherries on the midpalate. That was combined with some dry oak

Merchant bottling - The fill was terrible, pretty much low shoulder, so it was a little more advanced. Really feminine, soft, elegant and burgundian. Very aromatic with some light cedar, delicate spice, very complex and layered. It kept getting better in the glass, really incredibly long finish and beautiful soft mouthfeel. Completely integrated tannins but well structured.

Still young. Really big and powerful, expressing tons of potential. Dark rich fruit and lush violet, spice on the nose, round and really rich, long finish with soft tannins. Although it is a very pleasant drink with some serious decant time right now, this is going to be beautiful after a few decades in the cellar.
