3/23/24, 9:14 AM - PnD is popped and Decanted . Always be decanting! For pouring a glass straight out it use PnP.
1/17/24, 7:09 AM - I think I lot of people can't get past the structure and restraint of young Bdx and they probably don't let it breathe enough in a decanter. Always be decanting!
3/18/23, 10:07 AM - I have not had the 2016 CCR yet. I have had their Vino Nobile 2016 and it is fantastic. Waiting on delivery of a few of their current vintages.
2/12/23, 11:25 AM - Price has crept up recently but its one of my go to wines.
8/28/22, 3:55 PM - Pleased to be of service. Enjoy.
8/24/22, 10:29 PM - Great note. Can it put on weight if there is no mass there to work with?
8/2/22, 7:09 AM - I am planning a side by side tasting. But the short answer is the Block 2 is a bit more fruit forward while the Home Block is more complex with a mineral component very Burgundian.
5/14/22, 12:09 PM - Could definitely go 10yrs, But I'll never know as that vintage is no longer available here. The 2017 is a bit better. Cold here for the time of year.
5/4/22, 9:49 AM - Classic stuff. Love their Sauvage Rose.
3/2/22, 9:54 AM - I have not tried the 2017 yet. Regret missing getting some of the 2016. You are welcome. I love Nebbiolo but it can be a bit like Burgundy with its potential for costly disappointment. This is an always safe bet.
2/24/22, 11:46 AM - 2016 not yet available in this market. Thanks for the heads up. Can't wait.
12/31/21, 6:06 PM - Thanks Macaujames. Happy New Year to you too.
12/31/21, 6:07 PM - SRH - yes I was able to get a few more and while they were on sale!
2/8/22, 11:07 PM - Happy NY to you and yours too. Runny behind on 2022 after dealing with COVID. Sense of taste and smell not impacted - lol!!!
2/8/22, 11:06 PM - Thanks. Always like to hit the nail on the head. Sorry for the late response. Liked your note on the vintage.
12/31/21, 6:08 PM - Great note - very helpful as I have the 2009 too!
11/19/21, 6:14 PM - The most recent vintage I have is the 2017 it's great. Also have the '16, '15 and '14. Like them all with the '14 being the lesser but still good especially considering not as great a year in Tuscany.
11/1/21, 6:19 PM - Yes. And as I think it was Hugh Johnson who said there are no bad vintages just bad bottles.
10/26/21, 6:46 PM - Thanks for the feedback. I liked the 2015 of this even more. I am good hope you are too!
9/10/21, 6:25 PM - It is so good I scored it higher than Suckling. Love it even more when it goes on sale.
8/24/21, 10:53 AM - Nipozzealots!!
8/14/21, 11:13 AM - i blame the wine for being so good and such a great price!
8/11/21, 7:08 AM - You are welcome SRH. WS was an 83 on this one.
7/13/21, 6:00 PM - Thanks for the feedback on my notes for this wine. Happy to be of service. I have just had the one corked bottle but a friend has had several. Dang is right but it happens with a lot less frequency with cork sealed wines these days.Sale price $CAN24.50Cheers
6/27/21, 1:03 PM - Love my Nipozzano. 2013 is a pretty solid vintage in Tuscany.
6/27/21, 1:01 PM - Based on that bottle I feel the fruit may not stick hang in long enough to make it balanced for the long haul. I have had lots of Ardanza and love its ability to age but for me you gotta have some fruit to go with all the tertiary stuff.
5/5/21, 10:19 PM - So very good. My tasting note is only as good as the explicit plagiarism by reference to yours with some slight expansion.
3/19/21, 11:07 AM - I am a huge Nipozzano fan and I really like this vintage. Usually lay down six bottles and am always impressed at how most vintages hold up for 10 years sometimes plus. Not liking the 2017 as much.I am well hope you are too. A daily glass of wine or two is a great COVID test. One sniff is all takes to confirm no symptoms.
2/14/21, 12:06 PM - I like it better than their regular bottling which is good. Think the wood adds some depth and complexity. Things are getting better here... I think. THankss for asking. Stay safe! Keep using wine as a COVID test.
2/14/21, 12:03 PM - A fantastic Neapolitan style mushroom and Soppressata pizza. Perfecto!
1/15/21, 6:24 PM - Not familiar with the winery or the wine maker. Maybe she was referring to her touch with terrior.
1/15/21, 6:22 PM - Still too young. Was going to put some down like I have with the La Frenz Semillon but found the Bartier hard to keep my hands off. Crazy good deal on sale.
1/9/21, 1:38 PM - At the price can't go wrong with this. Has at least another five years in it.
12/23/20, 7:54 PM - Great note
12/22/20, 9:38 PM - Thanks KJ. I find too many OK wineries overdo the Viognier in their Syrah. Instead of a seasoning they end up with a clashing side dish - like candied yams. I agree thank the French for showing the Northen Rhone should be the reference point for BC Syrah.
11/5/20, 10:27 PM - i think the feeling is a fact. Cheers.
10/30/20, 8:25 AM - Thanks. Love my Sangio and all sorts of other Italian wines.
10/8/20, 10:36 PM - Thanks for the feedback. We had a nice tasting and lunch at the winery. I am sensitive to un-balanced oak. I think they have gotten a better handle on their elevage.
10/8/20, 10:34 PM - I am good. Hope you are too. Thanks for checking in. Will check out the Motes Syrah. Like Chilean coastal wines with not too much pyrazines.
8/7/20, 5:20 PM - Glad you liked the review. The newer vintages have showed some smoke taint.I thought the Boutinot thing was a collaboration not a merger. If that is not a distinction without a difference.
8/3/20, 2:45 PM - Glad to be of service srh. Really great wine with tons of life ahead.
5/13/20, 10:40 PM - Like the kelp descriptor. I will be using it as appropriate going forward.
4/18/20, 9:14 AM - Two is good too. I am not looking to soften the tannins which usually are not that big of a deal with Pinot. I think there is enough fruit and acidity to hold for that long to see what tertiary elements emerge. This certainly got better with added complexity with air as it was consumed over 3 hours. I think BC wines can age longer than people often expect. If I had two more instead of one I would try one in 2 years and the other in 5.
3/29/20, 11:45 AM - Nice note. Grabbed a bottle while it is still on sale.
3/27/20, 10:19 AM - Great note. Very helpful as I am trying to decide whether to hold my only bottle or not. Hope you are staying safe. Remember wine is anti-viral!
2/3/20, 11:09 PM - No. I like the 2006 Malbec more. Would like to try blending both of them as an experiment though. Going to get some more of the Malbec while it is on sale.
2/2/20, 5:08 PM - Nice note. I have hidden one away in the cellar to hold for at least 5 years for the sake of science.
1/24/20, 5:44 PM - Glad to be of service KillerJones. The wine has tons of life ahead. I wouldn't be afraid to hold one for 10 years.
3/22/19, 11:00 AM - Thanks.Year in year out one Nipozzano has been a go to wine for me. One of the world's greatest QPR wines. Ages surprisingly well. Have bottles back to 2010 vintage.
1/20/20, 5:42 PM - Thanks for the feedback on the note Pontifax. I am a big Nipozzano fan. Just had the 2016 it is great and going to get better. Three years ago I had the 1970 Fattoria Selvapiana Chianti Rùfina Riserva a huge revelation on the ageability of Chianti Riservas.
1/20/20, 5:39 PM - Happy New Year to you too. Just had some of the 2016 Nipozzano. Shows more upfront fruit. It is going to be real good. Will let you know on the Ardanza hate the price they charge in Canada as opposed to the UK.
12/27/19, 5:07 PM - Nice note. Very helpful as I try to keep my hands off my last bottle. Looking forward to getting some of the 2009.
12/5/19, 8:44 PM - Nice note. Especially with regard to the need for air. I am holding a couple of bottle for another 3-5 years to see what transpires.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
