shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate surviving another week during the pandemic. last tasted 8/2018. see that note for more complete description. on current tasting, wine seems to have put on some weight resulting in a fuller mouth feel. no signs of deterioration. still shows cherry fruit. not complex but enjoyable, none the less.

Opened this wine that was still made by Joe Wagner before he sold this wine product, that was recommended by wine stores for customers who wanted an affordable Pinot Noir that was opaque dark, big bodied, richer, and even tannic, closer to what might be called a Pinot Noir for Cabernet Sauvignon lovers. And the aged wine is impressively good, opaque black in color, with no sugar sweetness or raisin flavors, ample black cherry typical for richer power house Pinots. Outstanding match with potato salad and even curried chicken thigs. Overall, an ageworthy Pinot Noir, impressively rounded, integrated, and richer from additional bottle age.

Nose of red cherry fruit, hint of plum, fig, and earth, more of the same on the palate, medium body, tasty, paired with meaty pizza, vey rich, ripe fruit, simple, effective, enjoyable, and a long finish.

shared with pat at selkirk manor. selected this bottle since last taster indicated that wine was over the hill. this bottle proved to be sound. i had purchased this wine during my initial quest to become more familiar with the pinot noir varietal. i did not realize that this was a mass produced product and my purchase decision was influenced by the high score given by wine specator as well as the reputation of the winemaker. the wine proved to be more enjoyable than i had anticipated and thus served to assuage my buyer's remorse. the wine is made in a bright style both with regard to color and flavor. fruit forward profile. no further complexity. enjoyable for summer drinking. the wine is remarkable for having achieved this level of quality considering the large production. also noteworthy, is the fact that the wine remained stable for seven years in bottle under a screw cap enclosure. will attend to remaining bottle soon.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like blueberry, blackberry and oak. It tastes like oak, blackberry and blueberry. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

This is not my style of Pinot Noir. Heavy red and black fruit with a slight medicinal flavor which could also be alcohol on the nose. I prefer lighter earthier ones, but this clearly has a place in the Pinot Noir spectrum given its popularity. However it did pair nicely with a Capriotti's Bobbie.

We have had this wine in the past, and did not particularly enjoy it. We decided to open this bottle tonight, seeing the 2013 vintage made the top 100 (#20). The 2011, still seems flat and consistent with previous reviews "not an elegant/classic Pinot". Black cherry and chocolate on the palate, but not particular long legs. Earth and cherry on the nose.

Drank over two nights with Thanksgiving leftovers. Yeah, I know it's not "serious." And I'm not into fruit bombs anymore. Even so, this one is just good. Juicy, tasty, and good. No it doesn't have lots of nuance. At this price point it doesn't have to. Ignore the haters. Pick up a bottle or two on sale at WTSO, and open 'em up when you just want something fun.

I think this wine has definitely gotten better over the last couple years. No formal notes as I wasn't really paying attention when I drank it, but I definitely enjoyed this bottle, more than I had previously

A pale ruby wine with a nose of berries and forest floor. Smooth in the mouth with vivid tastes of ripe berries. Good length on the finish. Very good, but not quite that ethereal quality that excellent Pinots have. Still, it's an impressive effort.

Dark red rim, plummy jammy jaba juice cherry soda pop flavor. This is not your regular Pinot Noir. If you don't like fruit forward in your Pinot, then don't try. Great value, great everyday drinking wine. Have bought several cases, still drinking the 2013.

Nothing varietally distinctive about this dark, jammy, almost plummy, vanilla, super sweet, hideous concoction. There are lots of people that love this wine. God bless the winemaker for giving the crowd raised on big gulp sodas what it wants.
This bottle had similar flavor notes to my last one, but there was this sense of residual sugar that I couldn't escape and which couldn't allow me to go back for seconds.

This is not a "classic" pinot noir BUT with the right food and attitude it's great! Huge blueberry, cloves, exotic asian spices. Try it with a wild planked salmon with a blueberry gastric. Or duck breast. The low reviews on this wine are pathetic.

Wow - this is borderline undrinkable - sweet syrupy grape juice. Even for the low price I paid for it, it's just not worth. Considering dumping my last 2 bottles or giving away to parents, who like the sweet stuff. Calling this pinot noir is almost a travesty. My score is the lowest score I'll give a wine.

Popped and poured. Sweet fruit on initial palate, whacked out of balance tannins and alcohol. I could not drink this. Perhaps I should have decanted as suggested by other reviewers.

Wow! This is easily the highest rated wine I have ever been neutral on. I can see why some people love this style but it is simply not what I buy PN for.
Amazingly dark, intense color. Fruity nose. Dried cherry flavor with a a depth of nice oak and a touch of acid but that is about it. Long finish of cherry. Almost syrupy and sweet without sugar. Lovely for what it is but not what I want.
Very interesting for the conflicts and contrasts!

Consistent with prior tastings. Just a solid fruit forward wine with a good mouth feel. Fruit is a touch more restrained than the 2012. Not your usual Pinot.

I don't care for this wine. Highly extracted, almost syrupy like pinot with virtually no tannins. This was sweet and not complimentary to the pizza we had for a meal. I would not recommend this wine. POOR.

I know many are going to give me flack when I call this a Pinot Noir, because it is hard to distinguish this wine as Pinot from say Zinfandel or Shiraz, but I like the Belle Glos 2011 Meiomi, it just has its place and with all that black cherry, plum, and chocolate it's hard not to like it ... some will say "it aint Pinot", but it sure is tasty.

The bottle did not have the earthy aromas that are prevalent in Burgundy, and overall the nose offered muted red fruits. Quite dark in color, the palate offers raspberry, cherry, and allspice. On the finish, there is a bit of mocha. Not much in the mid-palate or the close, but the allspice and mocha hang in for a reasonable length. A reasonable value, though I prefer the 2009 Villa Mt. Eden in a side by side tasting.

This wine pairs well with spicy Indian foid, with the sweetness cutting through the spice. We drank these at the Indian restaurant in Summit, at the lunch after our wedding. (Well, I did not have any, as I was pregnant. But others drank them)

At Gary's Grand tasting, part of a Caymus/Belle Glos flight. This was the fist wine we drank.
Very extracted style, doesn't seem to have any vineyard or terrior specific character. Modern style, nose is rich red berries, and typical cherry cola profile
This would work for a big crowd.

Very nice drinking wine - not for food pairing at all. When first opened, the palate was tending towards the jammy side, but that dissipated and the wine had good red berry fruit, lacked a little on acidity, but overall was very pleasant and a great QPR.

You know how when you go to Disney World as an adult you really don't expect to enjoy it very much because, well, you're an adult, and Disney World is big, noisy, manufactured, manipulative entertainment? And then you end up having fun anyway? And thinking a little less of yourself for it afterwards? That's Meiomi.
It starts with the scent of warm vanilla, lightly spiced. Very seductive. Then it hits the mouth with a big blast of cherry cola and juicy strawberry jam, followed by plum, oak, a big shot of mocha and just enough earthiness to give it pinot cred. It finishes with some pleasing acidity.
It's hard to call this a pinot. With its strawberry jam and chocolate combo, it's too big and sweet, and it tastes calculated. But it's also hard not to like. Damn you Meiomi.

Very modern styled Pinot Noir. Almost can be confused for a Loring Pinot. Wonderful nose of berries. Full bodied and fruit forward. Palate has tastes of cherry cola and slight barnyard. Very smooth and medium-long finish. It has a delicious factor.
A lot of traditional Pinot lovers (ie thin and terrior driven) may not like this and may call it "Syrah-like." However I can appreciate both styles.
This is a great bargain and I wish I had bought more. Hopefully the 2012 will be even better.

Wasn't impressed. Tasted more like a big red than a pinot noir, as if some other red grapes were blended in with it. I was expecting a pinot noir taste not a red blend taste. Very dark in color, lacking translucency I expect from a pinot noir. Bold, not delicate taste. Was a good wine but not a good pinot.

Great QPR. Much more full bodied, deeper coloe and fruit forward than traditional Pinots. It must have been the blending process or something. Definitely a cab lovers pinot - fits great with heavier foods as well

Really liked this wine. Bought it on an offer from WTSO. Big. This bottle has loads of spice. Cinnamon and Cloves to go along with deep red fruits. I poured off a half bottle that had gotten a bit of air, chilled it and had it the next night. Much more complexity. This is definitely a Pinot on steroids. I like and the price if great.

Liked the spicy red fruit and firm acidity. This is easy to drink if you like your Pinots fruit-forward instead of earthy. Not a delicate Pinot at all, so it worked well last night with grilled salmon off the Weber grille, seasoned lightly with Old Bay seasoning.

Not my favorite - but for the price can't be beat. To me this is meant to be consumed young. Flavor that immediately stands out is chocolate, which tends to get monotonous over the course of the evening. Not too much tannins to stand up to hearty meats.

Consumed over 2 nights. PnP at first & drank over 1 hour on 1st night; more balanced & softer on 2nd night. Notes of Bing Cherry, pine needle, slight underbrush & hint of mineral in the background. A bit sweet w/flavors of red berries, cream soda, some spice & later developing a soft chocolate maraschino note, and finishes w/some minerality in back palate. Rich, medium-bodied w/low amount of acidity, sweet soft tannins & a medium+ finish w/bit of heat. This could be something special w/o the overt sweetness at first, but I do find it well crafted at this price point.

A true guilty pleasure -- I agree that this wine does not taste particularly like pinot. That said, I was surprised by the acidity in the wine, and it does seem to be moving more towards a "real pinot" flavor. Very luxurious, great QPR under $20.

Deep garnet color. Luxurious and dynamic aromas of ripe strawberry, bright cherry and faint notes of spicy oak and vanilla. The complexity of the palate smoothly layers rich red currant notes and baking spice flavors with light smoke, earth and leather. A balanced, velvety texture and supple tannins carry the wine through to a lingering, succulent finish.

Dark purple color. Concentrated flavors of sweet berries, a bit of funk, with a pronounced tobacco note. Heavy mouthfeel for a Pinot. Lacks adequate acidity and came across as monolithic and unbalanced.
The sweetness threw me off. It also tasted like the 13.9 abv listed was lower than what was in the bottle. The tobacco note didnt seem varietally correct and the sweetness killed any sense of enjoyment and I couldn't drink much. Not my style of wine.

Nothing spectacular, but a great Pinot for the price. Dark in color. Nose bursts of crushed red fruit when first opened, but quickly fades into a rather pedestrian mix of spice and strawberry in the glass. The palate is a mix of raspberry, pomegranate and blackberry with a backbone of wood. The finish is light and short, but 100% strawberry. Pleasant but boring. It's not built to last.

Dark in color for a Pinot. I am on the fence with this wine. One one hand, there is good fruit and a smoothness to the wine. But there is some sweetness on the palate which doesn't fit my expectations for Pinot Noir. Accordingly, it is more of sipping than a food friendly wine. I averaged my wife's and my score.

Not a revelation, but very easy drinking, and perhaps the first under $20 Pinot I've tasted that preserves some of the classic Pinot characteristics. Not much of a nose. But on the palate bright and vibrant, hitting cranberry and cherry notes. There's a big of "funk" to it and the tannins at the back are grippy. Definitely drink sooner rather than later - but there's a good year or more in this drinking window.

This is not Pinot Noir. Dark and neon purple like a Yellow Tail. I'm sure it has the full legal measure (15%) of undisclosed something else in it, probably cheap Syrah. Tasted within a flight of Burgundy's and decent level West Coast Pinot Noirs. Thick, candy confected, jammy, raisiny, a mutant. Doesn't even taste like Pinot Noir when compared side by each. Assembled by a marketing team.

This vintage has been inconsistent for me. First bottle I'd say 91, second bottle 78. This third bottle is in between at 86. This bottle wasn't quite as vibrant as most Meiomi's I've had, nor as dull as the prior bottle I rated 78. This is all surprising to me because before this experience Meiomi was probably the most consistently outstanding sub-$20 CA Pinot I've come across. I'll look forward to moving on to the 2012 which should be coming along soon enough.

Interesting thing here - I've never had an "off" bottle of Meiomi across a couple cases. Until now.
Although I rated a prior bottle 91 points, the bottle I opened last night was dull and almost pruney. So strange! It's a screw cap so it's not like it was corked. But it was definitely off. But I can't say which flaw it might have been so I'll rate it for what I tasted.
You know, I really enjoyed this. I can totally understand why some people are finding it odd, but this is so easy to drink with a nice juicy beef tenderloin. Popped (didn't realize it was a screw cap initially, so I really did try to open the capsule with my foil cutter), poured and drank. Zero air time. A little spicy with a hint of sweetness. Maybe a slight hint of moss, espresso, and clove . I am going to buy more of this and use it as a summer evening, sunset deck wine.

Disappointing for the price. There's hardly a characteristic past that of a simple table wine. You can't formulate anything that tells you it's a pinot. It is light, but that can really be a product of many like wines, the ones that are weak and have no place. It's like a wine that comes from a blank canvas rather than one from Monet. Or even a four-year-old's crudely drawn rendering of a meadow. More to the point: it wasn't much fun to drink.

Me like Meiomi. A lot. Great value in an excellent Cali Pinot Noir. The price makes this a wonderful wine to drink any night of the week. The quality makes it a wine I'm happy to drink any night of the week. Though no single aspect -- color, legs, aroma, palate, or finish -- stands out as exceptional, all of the aspects earn my respect as excellent. When I'm at Capital Grille, I know I can depend on this wine with a Delmonico. Equally pleasing with burgers at home.

Dark red color. PNP, drank 2 glasses over an hour. This was clearly better than the last time tasted. This is definitely big in style, lots of ripe black cherry fruit on the nose, herbal, vanilla, oak. The palate is quite full bodied for pinot, black cherry, soft tannins, oak, chocolate, herbal. Simple, very fruit forward, this is not your elegant, sophisticated pinot. It is pretty easy to drink, especially at $15.95. 88+pts.

Wow! Not about the wine, but about the number of reviews of this wine. 443 reviews. Most I've seen on a single bottle here before. Over 5,000 total bottles in cellars or consumed! A popular CellarTracker wine. I wonder if there is a way to search for wines here based on the total # in cellars, pending delivery or consumed? I also find it interesting that the vast majority of TN's have nothing written. I don't recall if all the numerical only scores are laudatory? That being said, I liked this wine. Had it in Riedel Pinot Noir Sommelier glasses. I've certainly had big extracted pinots before and didn't find the wine "fake" as others have reported. The fruit was intensely black cherry to me. I don't get anything at all resembling Merlot, but then again, I don't drink Merlot and perhaps I've lost my Merlot-o-mometer. There was a touch of astringency/bitterness in the finish, otherwise this would have a higher mark.

I was very interested to drink this based on the wide range of views and ratings.
Count me in the group that does not think much of it. This is certainly not a Pinot; at least not one that I have ever tasted. It is very deep, dark purple.
It tastes extremely fake. I felt like someone hit me upside the head with a 2x4. Very fruity and jammy. No tannins, no subtle flavors and not very enjoyable.
I did not like the wine but really enjoyed trying it based on all the feedback by CellarTracker users.

Second bottle, and this one fooled me a little the first go-round. Candied, Fake, Sweet, Sugary, Spoofilated, Velvety, Zero Tannins. A lot of people will HATE this wine, and a lot of folks will LOVE it. I am in the middle and can live without it. Non-wine-geek folks will gush over it. But for me...... No more to buy. Reminds me of a "better" Apothic (which I despise). 85

Settled down a bit since my previous tasting. Sweet and warm, not a noble treatment of the pinot noir grape by any means, but widely available and a reliable go-to option when faced with a mediocre restaurant wine list. I like the screw cap. Full bodied. Monolithic. Fruit beyond forward. Almost like Port, but without the complexity. If you like the refined elegance of Pinot Noir, you will not like this. Grape Juice.
By far, the best QPR in all of wine right now. I prefer this to most $50 - 80 New World pinots. Although, admittedly, doesn't taste much like a pinot. If Caymus made a Merlot - this is what it would taste like. Vanilla, cola, slight sweetness. In fact, if you like Caymus but can't swallow the price, this is a very good substitute.

Very smooth (perhaps too smooth, actually), very sweet, very fruity, very dark. This is unlike any Pinot I've ever had, it has the concentration and fruit characteristics of an Australian Shiraz. Perhaps a bit overdone, but I still like it.

This is the most un pinot like pinot noir I have ever had. Deep color, barely transparent. The nose is very ripe, displaying candied strawberry, oak, spice, and underbrush. This is medium bodied on the palate, with good concentration. The texture is all wrong. This is too extracted and lacks any finesse whatsoever. The acidity is medium and the finish is medium length. The reason that I gave this such a low score is this tastes nothing like Pinot Noir. Its hard to even call this wine, it was syrupy and lacked elegance. An awful effort, and it makes me question the integrity of a certain publication that rated this highly.
It's so hard to find a sub-$20 bottle of Pinot that you love. The 2011 Meiomi Pinot Noir continues to deliver at $17.99 a bottle. Beautiful bright purple color, nice snappy nose, and bright cherry flavor. Screw cap too! I need to pick up more. With it's decent acidity, it should drink well for a couple of years.

Agree with most of the preceding reviews that this is a jammy, full body pinot. The fruit is somewhat overpowering and masks out any complexities a pinot should have. You can't taste any depth in this wine. At the same time the wine is balanced nicely, not too acidic, easy to drink, and very enjoyable. It's just not a typical pinot.

I actually found this undrinkable. There was nothing wrong with it (no flaws) but it was made in a style that just turned my palate off: flat tasting with dark saturated cola notes. I really think this is made for a younger crowd as a stepping stone from syrupy soft drinks to syrupy alcohol wines. We did not finish the bottle and only shared a glass as this was so uninteresting. A disappointment as I'm a big fan of the Belle Glos Clark and Telephone vineyard wines.

Strong aromas of honey and cola on the nose feed into layers of jammy fruit and milk chocolate on the palate. Dark and rich with a slight minerality but its moderate dusty tannins give way to a long finish. Excellent value in the under $20 category.

This is a good wine (not great) but is very fruit forward for a pinot. Delicate with finesse, it is not. Also, after drinking a few glasses with no food, the finish starts to get a bit tart. Note that I'm not drinking with food, which would have lessened any tarty finish.
Is it worth the $20? Would I bring it to a party or drink with a meal? Yes to both. Would I buy it again? With all of the great Pinots out there, likely not. FAIR.

a bit too jammy for me. i think it's still a bit young and will become more dynamic with time. this wine should please, though, a broad audience - novice to connoisseur.

How WS scored this 92 points is beyond me. Looks like J.L. Was having an off day? That said, I like this, it's a straight forward fruity Pinot that's easy to drink. The QPR is great. But, this is not a 92 point Pinot with depth, balance, or sophistication.

Slightly rough right out of the bottle but a few minutes later goes down like the infant Jesus in velvet trousers. In a year or two, if I still have any left, it may have some complexity, right now it is a full-bodied basket of fruit (cherry, currant, plum), slightly sweet, with cardamom and mace on the nose, pleasure pure and simple.

Absolutely delicious! This wine is more full bodied than your typical Pinot, with earthy, smokey and dark fruit flavors. Best Pinot we've had in a long time. Can't wait to drink the rest of it tomorrow. Will buy more, especially at this price.

A big cali Pinot. Dark color with Lots of dark fruit. A good QPR and outperforms most in the range. It mellowed and softened with air, can hold 2+ hrs and a few years in bottle.

Drank with lamb chops. Interesting wine. Comments from others are all over the place. Definitely a California Pinot Noir from a fruit prospective but the wine has good acid and is well balanced. Previous vintages have been grapey. Everyone at the table liked the wine alot. The acid/ tannin keeps the wine interesting and makes the wine enjoyable.

Big fruit for a Pinot, but it is Cali so you get darker fruit and more Alcohol. Great finish. Good value. I usually drink Ken Wright's so this was a nice change.

The color is dense garnet with purple violet hints at the edge and is nearly opaque. The smells are red berries, briary raspberry, cranberry, and sweet spices, licorice, clove, and vanilla. The tastes are sour cherry, dark chocolate, cedar, raspberry, mineral, and earthy notes. The body seems light to medium in weight, there is nice acidity, and the tannins are very light and like a fine sheet of very fine, dusty powder. I think Angie will really enjoy this one... I do! The finish is also nice and lengthy.

Very pretty red berry aromas. Medium to full body. A very fruit forward Pinot with new world style to it. Red cherry, cola, and vanilla flavors. Smooth from start to finish. Not overly complex, but tasty. Drink now.

There's always a place in my cellar for a wine that tastes good, even if it isn't representative of its varietal. This is very big and fruity, and not all that "pinot-y," but everyone enjoyed it while we watched the academy awards. We started with a big bottle of Kosta Browne, and honestly anything much lighter would have seemed thin by comparison. Lots of red berry flavor on the palate, along with a hint of cola and some vanillin-oak flavors. Not real complex, and definitely big for a pinot, but tasty and enjoyable.

Not sure what to make of this one. I liked it, but its not the Pinot Noir I was expecting. No acidity and heavier mouthfeel. You need to pair it differently than a normal Pinot. I'll experiment with food pairings for my next few bottles.

My Type of Wine, Big, Fruity, Jammy, In your Face Style. Not the Soft Watery Type of Pinot Noir Thats's Out There in This Price Range. The Sort of Pinot That Ojai Use to Make. Great Wine to Sit and Drink by Itself Infront of the TV. A Real Winner for $18. Great Drinking for the Next Few Years.

Huge, jammy, fruit bomb - only redeeming characteristic is that it wasn't over oaked or alcoholed. Does not show as a pinot noir but rather a zin w/o spice.

This is wine is really pretty jammy for pinot... almost closer to the profile of a zin. A bit sweet with intense fruit on the palate, and not a ton of complexity or structure beyond that. Easy drinking and not bad for the price but definitely not what I expected.

Confused on this one. If tasting blind would not have guessed Pinot, and frankly not sure what I would have guessed. Much darker and heavier than a typical Pinot. Earth and spice on the nose in contrast to the typical red berry or cola I normally associate with a Pinot. Full bodied with long finish.

I agree with several CT users who say this is a very atypical Pinot. Aroma is a little off-putting - red berries, heat, earthy, and acetone. It mellows out after some air time, and then doesn't smell like anything in particular. Taste starts off as syrupy, full, round, but ends with an acidic and off aftertaste. Indistinguishable fruit flavor. The sweetness & fullness remind me of some GSM (Rhone) blends, but the aroma and aftertaste ruin it for me. Drinkable, but certainly not reminiscent of any wine I can recall.... Second day it was better. Aroma was tamer, as was the taste. Interesting, but not Pinot...

This is a completely atypical Pinot Noir. I found it to be a one-dimensional fruit-forward wine. It is the darkest, densest Pinot Noir I have ever had. I can see how a lot of people would like this wine, but it's not for me.

Very strange. This wine was tasty but I wouldn't have guessed it was a Pinot Noir. Darker than usual color, not much nose but plenty of sweet, rather undefinable fruit and very muted tannins on palate. I've not ever tasted a pinot like this...not bad, but not Pinot Noir, in my opinion. I may be completely wrong here but the memory of tasting a wine with Mega Purple in it came to mind. This impression continued tonight (2nd day). Lots of people really liked this wine...I didn't dislike it, it just was...different. I may be the only person on the planet who wonders about this....................

Definitely not your Bugundian Grandfather's Pinot Noir. Big, rich in-your-face style, but unlike its colleagues, shows complexity, balance and lots of interest. Dark garnet-purple, rich black fruit aromas, opens with a fruitbowl melange of baked blackberry pie, wild strawberry and blueberry preserve, then layers of Asian spice and some cinnamon touches. A touch of sweet tannin and an acidic balance linger on the finish. Remains food-friendly and not overpowering, reflecting the terrific quality of fruit in this juice.

It's great to find a sub-$20 bottle of Pinot Noir that drinks so nice.
2011 Belle Glos Meiomi Pinot Noir from Monterey County... and Santa Barbara County... and Sonoma County?? Blended from multiple vineyards from multiple California AVAs (American Viticultural Areas).
It has the color and body of the Sonoma pinots and the berry fruit flavors of central California. And drinking great for so young. Plus- it's a screw cap! Nicely done, Meow-mi!

Ordered off the wine list @ Joey's. Dark garnet red, much darker than a typical pinot. At first this had some cherry and spices like usual, just a little heavier than normal. Over the dinner it put on some weight and became more Californian but not too candied as some I have had. Very nice.

Very nice wine, with good aroma and fruit, but not characteristic of pinot noirs. In a recent tasting of 12 quality PN, it stood out as different. Very nice for current drinking, though, and at a good price point. The Apothic Red of pinot noir.
This is a fabulous Central California Pinot. But it is not for Burgundy snobs. It is clearly a Pinot crafted in the Caymus style. Dense, concentrated, and fruit forward. It may be even described as a big Pinot. I can't understand some of the other reviews. This stuff is flying off the shelves throughout the country. This won't be around for long and it won't be this cheap next year.

Very similar to Belle Glos Pinot and for the price a much better bargain. Similar to the Belle Glos, it was to heavy an mouth coating for us. Will not buy again, but can see how people would like this as a change of pace pinot.

Came in 4th in a tasting of 12 California and Oregon pinots. Pronounced aroma, sweet fruit and oak. Pronounced sweet berry flavors, with a touch of sweetness. The Apothic Red of pinots! The tasters liked it but said it was different from the other pinots, not as recognizable as a pinot. Would buy more considering the $14 price.

Had with duck breast in cherry sauce cooked medium and it was an awesome combination! The sauce really brought out the fruity and sweet flavors of this full-bodied pinot noir. A crowd pleaser with or without food; very smooth with a medium-long finish. Definitely NOT your typical light subtle pinot noir.

I opened this 3 days ago and just didn't get around to finishing it until today... It held up! Not your typical Pinot Noir. It's more complex and the fruit is powerful. The color is rich and thick. (Still) smells great but not overly aromatic. Lovely buy for $18!

Dark red, almost plum color; fruity aroma; early fruit flavor with slight sweetness gives way to a hint of caramel with a medium finish. Moderately acidic as one might expect with more texture/structure than other Pinot's in my cellar. An interesting wine and certainly not your classic Pinot Noir.

Very ripe, candied and oaky nose, tons of vanilla, caramel, butterscotch etc on the nose. So overdone it is hardly recognizeable as a pinot noir. I can see how this would appeal to a lot of people with the huge fruit and vanilla oak influence, but this style is too over the top for me.

Very smooth fruit taste here. Has good depth for a pinot. It's almost too simple and leaves you wanting more spice. Seems to get more of a woody flavor the longer it is in the glass. Overall, definitely a good wine, and awesome at this price point. (SA)

This wine goes better with beef than salmon. The soft tannins, if there are any, are pretty much covered up by the abundant dark berry fruit. The finish is very pleasant, almost sweet.

This is well made, but just too fruity, and very different from my style of pinot. I had it with salmon, but a more classic pinot from Oregon or France would have gone much better. I'll try the rest of it with beef.

Unscrew and do. Deep garnet stone color. Dark berry compote, underbrush and vanilla emanate from the glass. Seamless entry with round, soft mouth feel. Semi-sweet dark chocolate, molasses with a lingering, light spice finish. I just couldn't put this down. Don't let the price fool you - this is exceptional. A stunning QPR. 92-93

This wine is in the modern fruit forward's style. On the nose, it shows aromas of raspberry and strawberry with a hint of toast and vanilla. These flavor profiles follow through on the palate with wild cherry, cola, raspberry, and strawberry gliding across a medium long finish. It shows good balance but definitely is a wine to drink now. It is not very complex but rather straightforward and solid.

Aromas of dark cherries, wild raspberry, cranberry sauce, cola, chocolate truffles, coffee bean and vanilla bean with touches of spice and orange zest. upon entry crisp and precise acidity along with a voluptuous texture. Flavors of wild cherry, raspberry, cranberry sauce that echo the nose identically. Woven in are flavors of cola, spice, wood and finishing with a stone/mineral component that lasts.

13.9% alcohol. Strikingly dark color. Intensely dark. Red-black. Ripe on the nose -- blackberry jam and black cherry pie. Hints of earth and spice. In the mouth, vibrant and rich, with a dark fruit profile that works and has strong acidity. A solid drink. A-
Deep ruby in colour with a medium to medium+ intensity on the nose. Well this was a disappointment. Belle Glos makes some wonderful Pinot’s in their higher end wines, but this entry wine for them has very little Pinot qualities & a lot of jammy sweet notes, more reminiscent of cheap California Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Score: 7.5/10, Value: 5/10, Total: 13/20 Out of 5 stars, I rated this wine: 2

Deep purple color. All red fruit in the nose, and heavy cherry/strawberry in the mouth, little acidity and low tannins. If you like your PN on the rich side with heavy red fruit flavor then you will like this. If you prefer something with more balance between fruit/acidity I would not recommend.

One of the best pinot noir wines in the world, but not nearly as impressive as its 2009 and 2010 predecessors. Excessively sweet, occasional notes of cinnamon, but just not as robust as previous vintages. You'll be let down if you're a Meiomi drinker, but still pleased if you're not.

Very disappointing. We like the belle glos wine,so when I saw this at SAQ I had I get a couple. The nose is a warning ... Very fruity and unidimensional . Kinda candy like... Sweet and with almost (or none) oak structure. Feel like drinking a 8 dollar bottle.. For sure returning the second bottle. The irony is that we made a beef burgundy for dinner. I put on it a bottle of errazuriz max reserva Pinot noir (since it is 15 bucks). It would have been better to switch the wines...

Not too bad. No formal tasting notes since we drank it at a dinner. It was a little harsh and seemed a little young so I think it needs to cellar a few years longer. It was fruit forward with the tannins coming into play on front palate. Not very complex and a mid length finish

Sweet red fruits, slightly rough tannins, decent entry level pinot. Very consistent and a good QPR overall. I would rather pop for a couple dollars more and get a bigger bang myself. And, at the same price point La Crema Sonoma delivers a more elegant pinot.

Sweet and smooth, elegant oak and sweet fruit. But there is a persistent volatile element on the nose, almost vinegary, that cheapens the overall impression. Tasted twice, consistent. The 2010 seemed cleaner.

Deep garnet color. Luxurious and dynamic aromas of ripe strawberry, bright cherry and faint notes of spicy oak and vanilla.

FAIR.

I do!

This won't be around for long and it won't be this cheap next year.

This is my favorite everyday wine. It's a heavier darker pinot, berries and smooth. Love the screw top for everyday.

Did not like this wine, and to me it was not representative of a California pinot noir. Perhaps just not to my taste.

Super young, fresh, and delicious. Slightly sweet undertones balance the ripe, sour cherry flavor. Delicate frame. Definitely worth the price. Excellent value.

This is a terrific pinot noir for a red drinker that doesn't usually like PN. Lush & juicy.

Smooth, flavorable - cherry and spice flavors
Not a great PN, but a good solid every day drinker. Reasonable value for price

Dark, soft, cherry flavors. Slight charcoal notes on the finish. Unoffensive.
