I've had a half dozen Champagnes from this house and this bottle fell a little short. Mainly Chardonnay from the 2019 vintage with red wine from the Les Fontaines plot in Saint Thierry added. 4-5g/l dosage. Disgorged June 2022. Light pink color. Moderate bead. The only problem with this bottle was that there was some funky rubber aromas on the nose. The palate was fine. Notes of cherries and strawberries with a creamy texture. 88 points.

Visual: Deep pink, not really any golden hue. Nose: ripe red fruit. Was super expressive at open which was surprising, but lost some after time in the glass. Almost like a candy-like note Mouthfeel: medium size, but nice Pallet: relatively lively with acidity from start to finish. Taste raspberries, herbercious notes, spices, and a little grapefruit at the end? Structure: very round in the mid-pallet with acidity and a long finish
View: I love his rose and have drank many over the years. This one feels more ripe / spiced than previous years whereas I get more of a strawberry bomb. Very nice and good value.

not blind, at the winery Alexandre took a gem from the 80ies. He doesn't even know exactly the vintage. I guessed 1995. Feels still fresh. Black currant and lime. 92

Fascinating stuff here this Chartogne-Taillet NV Le Rosé (disgorged 11/22, CH/PN/M, 12% ABV) - not reminiscent of any rosé champagne I have had during #champagne2023 (this being bottle #37) & the ideal bottle for the 2023 #champagneday. A mix of raspberry & salmon red in appearance, fine, focused & relaxed pearlage. Intriguing nose w deep scents of green apples, smoke, asparagus, fine sweetish red berries. Vinous, rich, digestive & ripe red-berry moussy flavours, low acidity - lacks freshness. Creamy-spicy, chewy close!

Base year 2018; unspecified assemblage blend of C/PN/PM; disgorged December 2021, dosage 5g/l.
Very forward on the nose: almost candied red fruits with just a slight mineral edge. On the palate the red fruit is crisp and yet slightly sweet at the same time, minerality comes through towards the finish, which is perhaps not as crisp as expected, but not cloying.
Edit: with more air a rather intriguing herbal/tobacco note which I'm struggling to be more precise about appears on the palate and makes it rather more interesting. I've upped my rating a point.
Overall this is an excellent bottle of fizz, going nicely with some sushi, but I wonder if I'd like it even more with slightly less dosage.
Having said that, at ~US$51 the QPR is OK-ish, not great.

Nose: strawberry; stone fruit; tarragon; cheese; “goat cheese and strawberries on a salad”; a very rich pleasant perfumed nose.
Palate: Dense aggressive mousse; excellent tension between angular acidity and round weighty fruit; bit of mineral grip. Flavors are classic rose champs; fresh dewy strawberry; cheesy yeast/lees; concentrated; alcohol not noticeable at 12%. Wife likes.
Per bottle: Mostly 2018 vtg; disgorged May ‘21; dose 6-7g/Ltr.

Disgorged Jan 2021. Properly pink! Starting to see some development, and so nicely rounded, with good depth of tangy fruit and plenty of charm, if no huge excitement. Probably not quite a repurchase @£49/bottle on the table.

This is an absolute showstopper! Julie and I shared this at a campground traveling… it is crunchy, and full of pretty, red berries, apple skin, minerals. It fills the mouth and begs for consecutive sipping, which could turn into chugging if you’re not careful! This bottle was disgorged May 2021.

From the "2018 mostly" harvest, bottled in 2019, disgorged in May 2021, between 6 and 7 g/L dosage. Blend of all three Champagne varietals; the addition of Pinot Meunier does something to this wine that makes it better than prior vintages, in my opinion. Does best in a Zalto white wine glass (compared to a flute). Quite lovely with briny feta and olives as an appetizer, but also pairs nicely with roast chicken and other, heartier dishes. A high point for this release.

Served alongside '12 Benoit Lahaye, '08 Pol Roger. Paired with caviar, oysters and tuna tartare. One of my favorite Rosé champagnes - this was drinking nicely - creamy richness and racy acidity - strawberries and florals. Delicious and crushable!

I wanted more from a CT wine. I'm a fan of most everything I've had from them up to this Rosé. Its not terrible but there is a real lack of character. The dosage sort of creates a nice sweet fruit expression at the finish. Outside of that there is some bitter fruit and berries. A narrow midpalate. Apparently base or all 2015 fruit, disgorged in 09/19. Rosés of Champagne have traditionally been hit or miss for me. Back to that pattern.

Primarily 2015 base wine... Not much of a nose at all, which is a bummer for me. A bit bitter on the finish and I expected more fruit from a 15’ base. Not bad, but not a rebuy for me.

Opened for mother's day. Disgorged May 2020, based on 2015 vintage, dosage 7-8g/L. Blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Salmon-pink, excellent fine bead; aromatic, strawberry, peach; medium bodied, medium-plus acidity, intense mousse at first but settles quickly, strawberry and red fruited, medium alcohol (12%); medium to medium-plus finish. Overall this is fresher and higher acid than I would have expected from the listed dosage, and its excellently balanced with delicious flavor and depth. Really enjoyable, and I would buy this again at ~$55. 91-92

Brought to Black Sheep to pair across the dinner and it did a great job with soup, poutine, shrimp & grits and dessert (perhaps a touch less well with a broccoli rabe based pasta but that would be hard for anyone). This was drinking very well. Very bright and red fruits and accessible but with a bit of interest. Livened up the food.

Always an enjoyable wine to drink. This is bright and fresh and interesting and fairly versatile in its food pairing. Tonight was a chicken burger and poutine and it was lovely.

A Year Later in Vero...; 3/17/2021-3/21/2021 (Vero Beach): Served slightly chilled but not fully which I like because I think it let's the rose show a bit more. There's kindof a combination of red fruits and a hint of spice cabinet. Very enjoyable. I think this is a wine that would be happy with contemplation, but it was also ok in this instance to be more of the background sipper.

This one is 2015 base disgorged September 2019. It is really good. A very pretty nose of cherry, strawberry and chalk. It is vinous and full in the mouth, with a fluffy feel. It has good depth, drive and balance and finishes dry and refreshing.

Return of the (outdoor) dining: Always really like this producer and this is a nicely done rose. There's something a bit more herbal to it in addition to the red fruits. Very interesting and a but multidimensional which I appreciate. Miss when you could buy it for $45, but I suppose good wine has to go up in price. Great way to start the meal. Hard to stay to only one glass (stupid diet).

Disgorged Feb 2019, majority 2015 vintage. Chard, Pinot meunier and pinot noir. Dosage 7-8 g/L. 12% abv.
Rose gold salmon color, bubbles dissipate quickly. Nose golden apple note, a floral strawberry note. Palate very bright acidity, a strong mineral note running through, some red berries.
Still very young I think. Could use more time to have the acidity integrate and for the likely strong fruit ripeness of the vintage to become more evident. Drinks more like a still wine, like a Provençal rosé, with a bit more body and stuffing than I expected from a rosé champagne. 90 pts

Drank over the course of a week and it held up quite well. First night this was crisp with fine mousse and a balanced, though leaning dry, character. Notes of strawberry and mineral. Seemed to round out a bit in the second night with the introduction of a hint of yeasty character. Generally paired well with a variety of foods, as expected, but definitely played more of a background role vs commanding attention. Not terribly complex but a nice rosé sparkler at this price point.

Disgorged June 2016, 7 g/L dosage, 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Strawberry and chalky in a slightly broader glass, more focused and nicely bitter finish from a flute. I think I prefer the slightly broader glass for this Champagne, though: faintly herbal and savory aromas behind the springtime strawberry primary notes. Light on its feet with mild acidity at first, though the acidity lingers a bit in a pleasing way and leads to a drying finish. Very fun rosé blend, a bit more like a Pinot Noir than a Chardonnay. Perfect for the start of spring, even under quarantine....

2015 Base; disgorged Feb. 2019. Copper/salmon color. Delicate bubbles, modest in quantity. A bit bland night one but second night shows some pink grapefruit with a touch of pith, a soupçon of Pinot noir, a light bit of yeast on finish.

2012 base and disgorged 2015. Showed a lot more tertiary sweet cheese funk compared to a 2018 disgorged bottle I had before. Still had nice acidity and bubbles with lots of tart red fruit and minerality.

Rose V-day dinner (Atera - 77 Worth Street in NYC): Bubbles to start the meal and pair with a number of the little bites. I very much used to appreciate this rose for the price point although I think the price point has increased as this producer has gotten more popular. It has always seemed a touch simple in style, but in this case I liked that as it worked as a good compliment to the food and played more of a background role rather than dominating. Also just fun to start with some pink bubbles and this was quite fresh with the red fruits still there (I think 2019 disgorgement).

Burgundy, Day 4 (Beaune, France): At Le Bistro de L'Hôtel. 2012 base, 2015 disgorgement. A really pleasant red fruited profile, with some gentle sweetness and good freshness. The mousse is a touch coarse but overall this is a pretty convincing entry-level rose champagne.

Chilled and popped to accompany Oscars get-together. Light salmon color. Fresh smells of berry, apple core, and citrus on the nose. Focused layers of Bing cherry, red raspberry, and strawberry on the palate with bits of biscuit also. Moderately long finish of spiny red berry fruit. Improved as the evening progressed. Enjoyed it.

Skurnik Tasting (Prince George Ballroom in NYC): Perhaps not my absolute favorite from this producer. I find this wine to be enjoyable, but it misses a bit in the interest factor. Not overly complex. Very smooth and nice set of bubbles but it disappears quickly and doesn't quite leave a lasting impression. This was in a short tasting format and I do remember enjoying the wine more when I had the afternoon with it. 2016 base.

Disgorged April 2018. Pale salmon color. Nose of cool white flowers, coconut, biscuit, stone, petrol. Amidst the bite of fizzy acidity, austere blasts of strawberry on the palate amidst diesel and Parmesan overlying plenty of white gravel. Lots of spine. Longer finish of buzzy mulberry fruit and refreshing mineral lift. Ahhh.

I'd had this wine before but it was in a bigger tasting of mostly reds and so this worked better as a palate cleanser than something I could really focus on. This time though it was me drinking (most) of the bottle over the course of an afternoon and then paired with a number of items from the Willows Inn on Lummi Island. This did an excellent job from being an afternoon porch sipper to pairing with vegetables (not always an easy one) and on to a number of fish courses. The salinity of the food worked well with the bright red fruits of the wine. There's a lovely freshness to this. It is perhaps less complex than some other wines I've had from the producer, but it was very tasty. Glad that we have some.

New Years eve at Kevin and Vicki's 2018: Drank a glass over about 30 minutes. Ineresting power, rather deep with red fruit that is more associated with a red wine. The palate became a little brutish with time. This rose seems different than other Champagne Rose. I liked the bold red fruit, but it lacks some refinement.

New Year's Eve Bash (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Pale orange color. Drank a glass over 30 minutes plus. I've had this a few times, and while I appreciate several of their cuvee's , this has never truly rocked me. This bottle seemed to have a hard time expressing itself, there's a good bit of red fruit there, but the palate comes off fairly bitter and just doesn't have any harmony. This for me is a classic exampe of where rose Champagne has such a dicotomy of styles, with this falling to the side I have a harder time getting excited about - taut and more bitter without the grace that I prefer.

PnP. Initially the wine is a bit on the warm side. Color is a bit copper. Aromas of fresh strawberry, lemon, apple, yeast. Sampling as we sit down to a cold, grilled chicken and arugula salad with sliced raw vegetables, avocado and a sesame-ginger dressing. As the wine opens up more apple and yeast notes are coming forward. Quite delicious.

Great way to weather the frigid NY temps by starting the evening with a glass of our favorite house rose. As always delivering great taste for the value. Bright and lemony, with fine mousse and a layer of fresh strawberries followed by some minerals and a touch of biscuity goodness.

Disgorged May, 2017. 2013 base. Like all C-T wines, this did not disappoint, and IMO, overdelivers for the price. Pink-salmon color. Not giving much upon initial opening, but with air and warming, this became quite expressive. Strawberry, marmalade, peach, and light marzipan notes. Very fresh and energetic with a lovely mousse. Terrific wine, and a baby now, likely to improve with some bottle age.

This wine is in great shops with lots of youthful intensity! Beautiful salmon color with crisp citus notes on the nose. The nose gives way to more cherry / berry flavors with wonderful balance and verve. While fun to drink now, I feel the wine will improve greatly with a few more years in the bottle.

I got here after the 12th Merlot when I was starting to find my taste buds fading just a bit. It's lively and fun and very enjoyable. Champagne & Fried Chicken Dinner (Manhattan Wine Company & Porchlight - NYC): Base - 2012. Similar to my last experience, very enjoyable. This is a juicy red fruited rose, with lots of strawberry notes. It is a 60/40 Pinot Noir/Chard blend and the pinot flavors are evident. Definitely a great candidate for a house rose champagne for me.

Opened this y/day, jammed a still wine cork into it and let it sit in the fridge overnight. it's still got some pop, although it's softened some. However, what it leaves me with is the wine I guess kind of unmasked. It leaves behind a yeasty/brioche aromatic and a palate of cherry/strawberry focused fruit with some green apple. Dosage is 5 g/l and disgorged October 2015.

From the wine list at Scarpetta, NYC. Beautiful deep pink salmon color. Aromatics hard to decipher in champagne flute. As other tasters have noted, this is a little fuller in the mid palate with more red wine characteristics. Acidity is good and bright, some light strawberry and tart cherry flavors. Quite enjoyable but not overly complex.

A deeply colored rose, and surprising amount of red wine presence in the midpalate. What I mean by that is more pinot like weight vs. a lighter champagne texture. Not a lot of aromatics. I had brought this to go with an appetizer I like that has a harissa sauce base. That worked nicely as the bubbly had enough weight to play off the dish. While a restrained nose, palate had some berry and a bit confectioners sugar. An easy drink. This was a 2012 disgorgement. Ready now but no rush.

Double Blind Reds at Tilia (Tilia, Mpls): Pale pink color. Drank 1 glass over 20 minutes. This was similar to past bottles. I never really got a lot on the nose, very reticent, subtle citrus and mineral. The palate is light, chalky, with almost imperceptible fruit initially, gradually shows light citrus and maybe a hint of cherry. Good, but pretty understated. Would have been better if we had this as our aperitif and the Vilmart with the first course.

Sure, let's see what C-T can do with Rose .. by all means. The nose is quite lovely with red fruits, berries and steel - good focus. The palate is tasty - focused red fruits and a nice bitterness. Very pretty. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 4.5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 14.5/20.

Drank this next to the Drappier NV Rose. For me, this C-T Le Rose beats it. Disgorged January 2015, 60 Chard, 40 PN. This is peachy/salmon colored, not the darker tone of the Drappier. Exhibits good energy when cool, then fattens up some and adds a nice creamy note when it gets closer to room temp. Lots of red fruits, lean apple and a mineral/saline-like finish. Worth seeking out more of this.

By the glass at Odette; this was a good NV Rose that was both interesting yet versatile enough to go with a whole variety of dishes and flavours. Light tones of fresh strawberries were kissed by more citrusy notes of lemon and lime zest on both the nose and the mid-weighted palate, where a nice minerally character and a fine, breezy mousse gave the wine a good shape. A nice fresh mouthful. If anything, it was perhaps a touch aggressively bright and rather tight when served straight out of the ice bucket. But with time and air, and drank a bit warmer out of the glass, this was very pleasant indeed.

My contributions to the 'What did you drink on New Year's?' meme. Back label of the bottle indicated "Cuvee 2009" and that it was disgorged in December of 2012. This particular disgorgement is not setting the world on fire right now. There's an ocean of sweet fruit here, it's plush and almost over-generous; the main cognate flavor is strawberry and I don't think you could get a truer flavor profile from a strawberry smoothie. At the same time though, there's a mealy quality to the wine and an oxidative cast suggesting that some of the strawberries at the bottom are turning brown. The upshot is a distinct two-step in the mouth -- a rush of exuberant berry fruit on the attack followed by a midpalate where the touch of rot sets in, making it by turns moreish and yucky. I've long admired this producer's wines and a younger disgorgement would likely acquit itself far better. As an aside, this is why I consider listing disgorgement dates (or lot/"vintage" years, etc) to be crucial consumer info, and I'm loathe now to purchase a bottle of NV Champagne that lacks it.
2009 vintage. An attractive salmon color, though not of the wild kind (darker, more stronger red). A superb nose of complex, vivid savoury red fruit (strawberry, cherry, peach, apple), pastry dough, seashells and herbs. This sort of clarity, purity and expressiveness is not common at all at this price range, in fact I find this to be reminiscent of the Cuvée William Deutz Rosé 2000 I had a while ago. On the palate one first notices the firm, lively mousse and strawberry-led ripe yet dry red fruit, but a while in the glass reveals a vinous, serious fizz that sports excellent acidic structure and crunchy, savoury fruit that offers a kaleidoscope of nuances and is downright delicious. Bone dry with some really enjoyable citrusy and minerally tones, with an impeccable balance. Really long with a beautifully sour, mouthwatering finish. While massively drinkable right off the bat, the wine just keeps on getting better and better after opening. I was already a huge fan of Chartogne-Taillet but now I'm pretty much certain that they are simply unable to produce anything less than stellar. 30 €? hard to find a better rosé at that price.
Day2: Performs very similarly compared to PnP the day before, but what is more obvious to me is now how much of a wine this sparkling wine really is. The closer to room temp it gets and the less fizz there is the more tasty the wine becomes. The last glass, now some 30min after pouring, is easily the best, with the wine having grown tremendously in terms of body. Deliciously chewy and seamless all the way to the lingering finish, possessing a perfect marriage between citrusy crispness and red fruits.
Dinner at Park Palace (Park Palace, Grand Park Hotel): Pretty good. This had a pretty red-fruited nose, with fresh scents of strawberries and flowers chased by little inflections of citrus and mineral – a nice, clean bouquet. This was nicely echoed on the elegant palate. Again, there were those clean red-fruited notes, with fresh raspberries and strawberries and the slightest hint of mineral at the finish, all lined with a fine mousse and a lithe balance. A touch simple maybe, but this was compact and yummy, with a very fresh, lively youthfulness to it. Not bad.

Wonderful Rose. Soft and vinous, with good fruits. Lightly floral, strong minerality, yet still soft and balanced. Rather simple initially, though delicious nonetheless. With 2-3 hours of bottle air a little complexity start to show. Some matured Pinot notes nicely balanced by bright ginger tones emerged. Very nice. Fantastic QPR. Disgorged 2012.

Several months ago this wine was all about primary fruit. Last night it showed much greater complexity, with fruit, herbs and a base of iron. What I once thought was a playful, refreshing wine became something almost majestic. A great transformation, and a delicious Rosé.
had only read about this producer before, but received an email of a winedealer some weeks ago......, so ordered a case of different champagnes of this producer, great surprise, has nothing to do with champagne rose brut from the supermarket....... and compared with those this is a bargain! finely beaded in the glass, delicate fine fresh Pinot fruit, totally elegant, really tasty, long finish, really great stuff

Disgorged 7.11 so literally fresh off the boat. Salmon- in color with a fresh green apple and light spice aromas. From the Theise catalog "All 2007, 60%CH/40%PN by assemblage". It picked up strawberry flavors on the palate and finished crisp with medium acidity and slight minerals. It seemed dry and light in structure with beautiful tiny bubbles. In all a fine Rosé that should improve with additional bottle time.

The Other Great French Blancs: Champagne and Sauternes (Wink Restaurant, Austin, Texas): A co-favorite of a Rosé flight, with the Krug, this had lots of fruit and quite a sexy finish. With bright, “beautiful” acidity balanced by a round, full textured body, its color was between salmon and peach and it had very fine and persistent bubbles. The nose was variously described, as “green apple, not pronounced, hint of root beer, some gunflint,” “almost sauvignon blanc,” and “crushed oyster shells.” With medium-high acidity, this very round bubbly had lots of marmalade, described repeatedly as orange, kumquat, or grapefruit; one taster called it dreamsicle, another orange blossom special, another strawberries and cool whip (an all-American dessert). So much cream and fruit, with some light asian spice, melon, cranberry, and mineral notes. All in all, a Franco--American dessert wine, by itself.

Very coarse bubbles, not nearly as refined as I would have hoped. Was disgorged five years ago - too old? Purchased half off at Marty's - should have known better!

Sublime Rose experience. I find the majority of Rose sweet and ponderous, but this reminded me a little bit of a Heredia Rosado, in the sense that it's the polar opposite of the expected typicity. Dry, restrained and delicious.

88 points.

Disgorged May 2023
Dosage 5g/L
Visual: Deep pink, not really any golden hue.
Nose: ripe red fruit. Was super expressive at open which was surprising, but lost some after time in the glass. Almost like a candy-like note
Mouthfeel: medium size, but nice
Pallet: relatively lively with acidity from start to finish.

Copper/light red.
Nose: strawberry; stone fruit; tarragon; cheese; “goat cheese and strawberries on a salad”; a very rich pleasant perfumed nose.
Palate: Dense aggressive mousse; excellent tension between angular acidity and round weighty fruit; bit of mineral grip. Flavors are classic rose champs; fresh dewy strawberry; cheesy yeast/lees; concentrated; alcohol not noticeable at 12%. Wife likes.
Per bottle: Mostly 2018 vtg; disgorged May ‘21; dose 6-7g/Ltr.

Pronounced on the nose with grapefruit, apple, lemon, red currant, red cherry, raspberry and dough. Youthful.
Pronounced and dry on the palate. Medium body, high acidity, medium alcohol, long finish.
Can drink now but has potential for aging.

Chard, Pinot meunier and pinot noir.

Q2 2017 Tasting - The Anti-Sideways (aka Merlot) (The Apt): A palette cleanser in the middle of a large (18 wines) Merlot tasting. I got here after the 12th Merlot when I was starting to find my taste buds fading just a bit. It's lively and fun and very enjoyable. Not sure I captured much nuance, but I think I didn't quite have the capacity at that point. Would happily drink again.

Blind Reds (Tilia): Drank a glass over about 30 minutes. Ineresting power, rather deep with red fruit that is more associated with a red wine. The palate became a little brutish with time. This rose seems different than other Champagne Rose. I liked the bold red fruit, but it lacks some refinement.

Not bad.

It picked up strawberry flavors on the palate and finished crisp with medium acidity and slight minerals. It seemed dry and light in structure with beautiful tiny bubbles.
