PnP from a perfectly stored bottle since release. Very pale color especially considering the age. Delicious and rather ethereal in it's light and airy disposition out of the gate. Lemon, green apple, almonds and baked goods are all here and give a hint of what is yet to come. There is a fatty textural smoothness that is perfectly balanced by just the right amount of acidity. The longer this is open the more saline notes emerge on the finish and the wine keeps putting on textural weight. 45 minutes in, and now this is really humming. More intensity on both aromatics and flavors, with greater mouth grip on the mid palate and the finish. More tropical nuances, pineapple and starfruit come to mind, more sea air than chalk, but throughout this is insanely balanced. Mouth watering and oh so smooth - it's hard to put the glass down. The drinking experience is not dissimilar to a good Corton Charlie. I can't see how this can get better but hopefully bottles in this condition will continue at this level for a while. Simply glorious.

@ Seamore's Brookfield NYC. Fortunately bottle is in perfect condition. Now a deep gold in color, this had a lot of weight and gravity but retained fruitiness and steeliness, with a blossoming honeydew note emerging with 30 minutes of air. A very nice expression of Clos - wouldn't wait too much longer on this one.

Citrus, orange blossom, pastry, croissant on the nose. Fairly rich mouthfeel, opens into stone fruit, tree fruit, with MLF flavors. Really nicely balanced, was rounded PnP but opened up beautifully. Fairly complex and developed with Belgian waffles and syrup. Dry and long finish. Very solid Chablis, near peak/peaking now. 92-93

For what to expect from a Chablis Grand Cru, this checks all the boxes and more! Beautiful minerality, with a blooming late pallet that almost explodes into a beautiful citrus finish with a hint of lemon bar or sweetness that just helps the finish carry so so long.
Bravo!

Medium gold. Minerally, crushed shell nose, with citrus backdrop. Crushed stone too. A bit of petrichor. Age certainly showing a bit on the nose too, an aged character overseeing everything. Palate is perfect, definitely in the window, still fresh but showing great complexity. A smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel accentuates the balance. Nice stuff.
FWIW, I've had 25+ bottles of Fevre over the past decade, and not one of them has had even a hint of premox. I wonder if the shipping and transit storage is a part of it. Our government liquor monopoly gives you lots to complain about, including some of the highest wine prices on the planet, but I think they do a pretty good job getting the wine from the producer to their warehouse in a seamless, climate controlled process.

Gorgeous. Beautiful mature chardonnay. Seems to have lost some of its chablis character: less mineral (but still present) and lots of butterscotch. *Extremely* long finish that is pleasantly sharp. The chalky mineral flavors come out most on the long finish. Really amazing.

This has lost a fair amount of its fruit, but is showing no signs of oxidation or age. A really great wine. Crisp acidity, oyster shell, hints of oak, and a full body mouth feel. I don’t see this faltering anytime soon, but I also don’t anticipate any further development.

This was showing age in some golding but not too deep, but a great balance between the depth of flavor with structure and cleanness and balance on the finish, nothing crisp like a younger Chablis. Came off more like a golden delicious baked, but with none of the spice, just fruit. I think it is pretty well mature and enjoyable now, not past it's prime at all.

This is fully mature now and quite enjoyable. Buttery, chalky, with yellow plums and nice gently acidity. Silky and smooth. I don't think these will age much more.

Popped and poured to accompany steam mussels with chorizo. Medium gold color. Nose of schist, flint, granny apple, white flowers, and grapefruit. Layers of incisive white stone, apple core, tart citrus, flint, and lemon-lime on the palate with cut and precision. Copious acidity and structured spine. Long finish of mouth watering bright tart citrus fruit with grip and oyster shell. Wonderful.

Youthful light yellow in color. Classic aromas of sea shells, green citrus oils, dusty herbs and florals. Precise in the mouth showing yellow/green ripe citrus, excellent acidity, good mid-palate sap, tons of minerals and a long linear finish. Reports of its demise are premature! Wonderful.

A superb showing for this W. Fevre les Clos 2006. At first it was a bit shy but as it went down this has delivered waves and waves of fantastic aromas, flavors, and textures. The rock stony character was wrapped by beautiful flowery scents and of sweetness, mingling with slightly teasing saline nuances. This diamond like Chablis profile provided superb complexities of Mineral/Rock, sweet/hint of saline, oily/dry freshness... But all of this in the most intimate manner. Not a fan of a loud voiced bottles, this was just rightly speaking to me, softly and nearly killing me with those verbs. This bottle sure was in great shape, and yes, sometimes, more often than not, soft spoken wine(and a person) is really attractive. Cheers,

Mid lemon yellow, still youthful-looking! Plenty of ripe orchard fruits, citrus (lemon and lime) that meld with mineral, oatmeal, sorrel and slithered almonds. The palate displays a searing acidity, freshness and has a buoyancy to it. Crushed rocks, chalk and lemon-lime zest on the attack are followed by more breadth in the mid-palate showing baked apple, fresh yellow apple, fennel bulk, fresh herbal note, almond paste. Fabulous depth of flavour and concentration the wine has a density to it yet retains poise. The finish is long and lingering with chalk powder, mineral, lemon leaves and rind and apple. Layered and very smart wine and still just there despite a streak of marzipan on the aftertaste.

Tasted after 2010 Fevre Chablis GC Valmur. Slightly darker in colour. A little richer, more delicate and more layered in comparison. Slightly riper fruit, dense, mineral. Great balance and energy, well integrated acidity, good fruit, mineral finish with great intensity and length. Excellent. 93-95

super clear, deep and clean nose, lively freshness, green pomaceous fruit, wet limestone, lime, lime leaves, sorrel. Delightfully fresh and vital on the palate, with lots of pressure and substance. An acid - pulled like clockwork - from front to back. Aromatically pure and lively as fresh spring water; green fruit, citrus fruits and leaves; deep, calcareous minerality. Complete wine with intoxicating depth, freshness and complexity. You can spend hours. Very long finish.
From magnum. Pale straw- looking extremely youthful. Powerful bouquet. Intense and delineated vs 2008 Bougros tasted previous night. Drinking more like a Chassagne than Chablis. Extremely long. Most enjoyable. Very impressive.

Tremendous bottle variability here; in looking at others’ notes, not just my experience. This was my best bottle yet: pale, straw color; nose of tart apple, citrus, sea air and just some faint hints of maturity that add nice complexity. Delicious right now, if you have the right bottle(s). Sad to see others encountering mags far more advanced. Shouldn’t happen.

Light golden in color. A bit muted at first. Decanted for 30 minutes. It seems more advanced that I would have preferred. Slight hints that oxidation is coming but not here yet. A bit of pineapple on the nose. You can feel the weight and grip on the palate. Densely extracted. Acid feels lower than I remember but it is still present. The end is very long. You can feel it after over a minute. Thinking back, I liked this better young. I miss the energy and intensity. If you have any left, I'd say drink up.

Deep golden; far more “aged” than bottle tasted a year ago and the last several notes posted. While not dead (just beyond fully mature), this points to bottle variability and I’ll need to try another soon.

I purchased this wine at the winery and have cellared it since. It was in perfect condition and was wonderful with a plate of fresh oysters. Great delineation and a long finish. Interesting Chablis bouquet. Well stored examples should continue to drink well, but if I had more I would be dinking them up.

Very nice indeed. Round, iodine, nutty, saline, and slightly mineral powdery(if one knows what I mean by that!) Just beautiful texture and uniquely Chablis GC. If you have it, open it and enjoy as it fully is ready to meet up the fans. Cheers,

At a delicious point right now. Plenty of verb, intense and piercing freshness but with the '06 roundness counter singing the rainbow like melodies. Iodine, slight gun flint, something is slightly powdery, chalky, and yet lithe and sweet. So you keep wondering, therefor keep sipping on the glass and marveling at this very 'thing' that you can't quite keep put words onto it but yet happy to let it dance on your palate and let your imagination dance to the theme and variations of waves, shapes, aromas, flavors. Yum!

Pale yellow in color. Expressive aromas of lemon-lime citrus, hint of raw tropical fruits (pineapple?), powdered stone, steel and minerals. Intense, linear and focused beam of citrus, yellow orchard stone fruits, limestone, excellent acidity, and a long, saliva inducing mineral laden finish. Wow! This is still very young and will continue to add more weight and power.

Beautiful, healthy greenish tinted straw color; classic Chablis nose of crisp apple, citrus, sea air minerality; great layers of crushed stone, waxy texture vs Chablis acid crispness on the palate. Excellent finish. All the ballyhoo and BS about such a "difficult" vintage are missing in this very nice wine.

Very nice and drinking perfectly now. Lost some of its baby from the first bottle. Would have preferred more concentration but then again 2006 wasn't a top vintage either.

Dinner at Bellecour (Bellecour, Mpls, MN): Light gold color. PNP, drank 2 glasses over 45 minutes. Lemon, sea air minerality, lemon peel and some oak influence. The palate is more full bodied, though not heavy, good depth and length, lemon, lemon oil texture, subtle lime, less distinct minerality but a blast of saline on the back end.

We were sceptical of how this would be after 10 years but we shouldnt have. This is Grand Cru chablis with a capital G. Brint, lively, light floral, citrussy and mineral. with a round core of fruit in its centre to give an extra layer and dimension this was a magnificent bottle. a solid 93 and with good lide ahead. Shame its our last bottle.

Nose was a bit closed with only faint aromas of citrus and mineral. No evidence of premox, and no decant. Had alongside a 2006 V. Dauvissat Les Clos and definitely showed a heavier mouth feel, a slightly more subdued minerality, citrus tending toward lemon crème, and some stone fruit presence. Enough acidity to avoid being flabby, and to extend the drink window to at least 2020. Preferred over the Dauvissat due to better overall balance, albeit with slightly less complexity.

Yellow. Ripe fruit and a touch of the sea. Full, rich fruit leaning toward pear and ripe apple, reasonable acidity, minimal minerality. In the realm of 2006 Chablis, pretty good, but it would suffer mightily in comparison to a more classic vintage.

Thankfully, not oxidized. So much going on - minerality, apple, pineapple. Acidity was a little soft but quite satisfying. I'm not convinced it was a successful pairing with shrimp and grits, but, other than a Rose or Champagne, I'm not sure what would have worked better.

The first bottle was a success; this one, not so much. This was advanced, slightly darkened. The flaw gave it a buttery, oaky perception, along with slightly dark and harsh qualities.

Much lighter in colour compared to both 2004 Leroy Puligny Montrachet and 2000 Joseph Drouhin Clos de Mouches. Very cool and composed on the nose, chalky minerality, green fruit, cold cream, citrus fruit. On the palate very mineral, very powerful and tight. Great length and persistence. This should be given more time and improve further. A wonderful wine. 92-93+

Mostly Napas and white Burgundies with Washington Winos (Ripple Restaurant in Washington D.C.): Enjoyed side by side with the Mestre-Michelot Meursault Genevrieres. A lighter tone of color and more steely. An excellent wine in the context of the vintage, which is not considered to be too great in Burgundy in general for whites. This has surprising verve and poise. Just burgeoning aspects of white stone fruit, ripe green apple, hints of lemon. While not as expressive or as rich as the Meursault, it has loads of aging potential. Full bodied and smooth and long.

After the 08, the second vintage of Fevre Les Clos I have tried. Pale yellow. Not as dry as Chablis tends to be with citrus, white fruit and a touch honey melon; the texture here is even a bit oily. Some oak and a touch of nuts. Slight bitterness towards the medium (+) finish. While I very much like the dryness of Chablis, and those Fevre Les Clos are very nice wines indeed, I don't think this is a great value wine as there are better Chassagne Montrachet and Corton Charlemagne at the $70 mark than this.

Yet Another 60th Birthday Dinner (The Hills of Northern California): Medium yellow. Some ripe citrus juxtaposed against even more oyster shell and brothy notes. Rich but very well constituted with a convincing Chablis finish of firm acidity and minerality. From both of my experiences with this wine, I think Fevre hit a home run with this cuvee, which outpaces both the Dauvissat and Raveneau Clos in this weird, overly exotic vintage. None of those excesses could be found in this bottle.

Drinking really well right now. Is there a further upward curve to aging longer? I doubt it. Great balance between the minerality and somewhat honeyed, tropical fruits - but the fruit plays second fiddle to the saline and mineral qualities. Great poise and refinement. A surprisingly robust finish kicks in, and then persists. Wonderful grand cru drinking experience.

We were very happy to find this healthy and drinking very nicely after a bad encounter with a Droin Le Clos 2005.. Quite steely, clean, fresh and precise wine, the Dom Perignon precission in a way for a chablis, citrus notes across and full of minerality. Any Oak used in its elevage is well assimilated and the wine had a lovely purity. Very good and a worthy 93. Drinks very nicely now.

Chablis-athon (Chicago, IL): Very intense and big nose, with some pear aromas. The palate is very lush with a bit of an oily texture. The acidity's here in spades to rein everything else in, but the ripeness and big fruit here doesn't totally do it for me. Completely overshadowed by the much better 2007 and 2008.

End of 2014 wines: I brought this wine to (hopefully) show that not all 2006 Chablis are disappointing. Served blind as a pair with my Laroche, people liked it, but had it as a quality Cote de Beaune, not as a Chablis at all. Again, it lacked Chablis typicity, but it was, in my view, an excellent Grand Cru level Chardonnay. A lovely bouquet of minerals, lemons and limes and white flowers. On palate, this is an attractive, expressive wine with good fruit weight, sufficient acidity and beautiful balance and proportion. Good length, the wine finishes dry on minerals. Drink in the next five years.

This is one of my favourite producers and one of my favourite wines so I was a bit afraid to open the bottle, I have moved it severtal times and it has been stored in both good and bad conditions so I was really happe when this bottle kicked as. On the nose there is hot wet stones, stonedust, mineral, tropical fruit, pinneapple and papaya, Mint, honeymelon, crackers. I love it! It´s so pure.

Light lemon yellow colour. Prominent crushed rocks, minerals, orchard fruit with white peach, green apples left in apple bins, river stones, a hint of flintstone and plenty of wet chalk. Mountain fresh and finely chiselled acidity yet with a rich smooth marble textured. Fruit is white peach, sucking a pebble, oyster shells. This is a classic Grand Cru Chablis from Le Clos. that has a super long finish and lovely phenolic edge that gives bite and texture and weight to the wine. All elements are in balance and showing hints of savoury as it ages. The wine is poised with a cut and edge to match the richness and give a fine depth to the flavour. Cracking!

Chablis Les Clos night + an addictive and most impressive Scheurebe BA: Medium yellow. In the nose, this is quite soft, maybe a bit too soft for my personal taste, ripe pear, green herbs, nutty and smoky notes, a tiny bit of terpentine. On the palate, it's a bit austere, bone dry, chalky, compact. There are pear notes again. The finish is quite long and full of minerality.

Breathed in bottle for a couple of hours. Clean youthful green-yellow tint, hints of lemon/lime zest but quite closed up on the nose with a viscous mouth feel. For my taste a little on the rich side and with an aromatic exotic fruit element rather masking the citrus/mineral chablis typicality almost hidden in the background. Still (just) excellent but I expected even more. For drinking over the next year or two if this singleton was anything to go by.

Light yellow, but showing a bit of development. Very faint nose - only after double decanting some hints of pineapple and lime were discernible. Absolutely terrific in the mouth, though - before and after decanting. Very long, and with great minerality. It really fills your mouth. If not for the nose, I would have rated it higher. 93 for now, and there's no hurry in drinking them. No premox whatsoever.

Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Chablis GC Les Clos + Party wines (Rodwell House): Light to medium yellow. The nose is relatively intense with mineral, chalk, orange blossom and white flowers and shows a touch of development. Great concentration on the mid-palate with delicate oatmeal notes, rapier acidity and some mid-palate breadth and density. A wonderful mix of ripe lemon zest and orange that mingles with crushed stone, mineral and chalk. Modern, clean example with a grippy phenolic note to the back palate and a long followthrough.

Light yellow with a greenish glint. Some sulfur that quickly resolved. Lemony tones. Full for Chablis, combination of ripe lemon and orange peel fruit, then beautiful floral/herbal/saline flavors and impressive back end structure. It's funny-we opened this looking for a broader, more Cote de Beaune style wine for a rich chicken dish, and this bottle definitely confounded expectations that had been fueled by drinking other 2006 Chablis. No overt exotic fruit here and much better cut and drive than we expected going in. OK, not the most glorious example of this great cru you'll ever taste, but very satisfying and impressive nonetheless.

Amazing. This is the best wine I've had in a long time. I don't put points on my TNs but I would give this one 95 points or more. It is absolutely stunning. I'm amazed most I think by how long the finish persists and how much of the flavor stays with the finish. Smells like the sea to begin with. At dinner I thought that might be because of the lobster in front of me rather than the wine, but now, outside, it persists. Lots of chalky minerality and crisp acidity. Nice butterscotch flavors frame it up.

A pale yellow with more of a tropical nose than expected showing pineapple to go along with the lemon lime. But clearly chablis in the mouth, lean and precise. Lots of interest here, with steely minerals backing the dusty lemon and lime, mixed with a richer pineapple. From the list, Springhouse, just outside of Alexander City, Al.

Popped and poured. Very pale gold color. Nose of sea shell, grapefruit, lime, white stone. Tight on the palate at first but eventually opened up to reveal steely lime notes, flint, sea brine, and a bit of peach. Arched acidity and firm structure. Lengthy finish of minerals and grapefruit. Showed young, what a relief. Needs time to show its stuff.

This wine came out of the bottle very closed and didn't start opening up till later in evening... Stylistically it has a moderate amount of flesh and ripeness for a Les Clos (less ripe than 05, riper than 04), has plenty of depth of flavor, and plenty of power/minerality cru-ness. Give this 2-3 years and check on it again.

Started tight with just lime showing, but it quickly opened up into a much fatter and richer wine, with sea salt, honeydew melon, and a pat of butter on the finish. Textbook minerality was there, but somewhat obscured by the lushness on the palate, which actually got a little tiring over time. A well-made wine, no doubt, but just lacking the focus and edge that are the hallmarks of truly great Chablis.

Chef's Table at the Pearl Dive Oyster Palace: A purity of fruit and minerality driven by a firm backbone of acidity, this wine was hitting on all cylinders tonight. Two bottles tasted, with consistent notes. Surprisingly classic in style -- none of the tropical fruit flavors or fat/sweet character that I was expecting, considering the ripe personality of the 2006 vintage. Intense, saline, and chiseled, with a taut, salty, white fruit/citrus flavor profile that builds to a long finish. Perhaps missing just a hint of the racy energy of the 2005 or 2007, but very true to Les Clos.

Better on day 2; not that much grip, shorter and softer than expected (as others have noted) on day 1. Minerals, citrus, and chalk in a balanced, complex, and yet subtle wine with hints of white fruits and flowers. The nose did not perform at nearly as high a level as the palate. While excellent, I suspect I would have liked this more earlier or later than I chose to open it.

Pale straw. Nose showing brisk citrus, white flowers, hints of orange peel. Taut, vivid flavors show ripe fruit, firm mineralogy, and the finish is long, but a slightly buttery note makes the wine somehow Californian. Delicious now, but whereas I once saw this as a vin de garde, this bottle doesn't have the profile of a long term keeper... I won't risk it. My dad might not love this wine: he wants firm acids in Chablis!

Chalk, lemon, rocks, white florals on the nose. The palate is creamier than one would expect almost Cali-Like but not. Ripper and fatter fruit, minerals, lemon, with a rich and long finish. Sushi and vino (Sai Cafe, Chicago, IL): nose: somewhat forward and fatter nose of melons, tropical citrus', pears, minerals, and some bits of grapefruits. Nice balance, but lacking some depth
taste: fatter and medium/full body with medium acidity and tones of melons, tropical citrus', crushed rocks and pears. Balanced, but lacking a bit on the mid-palate and seems slightly flabby
overall: This was a nice wine, but it was a bit too forward on both the nose and palate. It was lacking some depth that I would expect from a grand cru

Kelvin's 30 bday: Wet stones and pebbles, lots of minerality and lithe. Classy lemon curds with weighty yellow fruits at the start but fades to high minerality but gets intercepted by a punch of acidity and then transits back into a lovely wrap-up of stony schist and granite. This is high quality and grand cru stuff no doubt. Pristine minerality makes it the epitome of Chablis but there is a richness of a creamy rich mearsault or corton. Delicious grand wine. Can't imagine how a few more years of bottle age can really add on even more Complexity.

Minneapolis Wine Club Does Burgundy (Beth's House): Pale green color. The nose is evocative: minerals, wet stones, lemon, tropical fruit, slightly floral. Kelvin's 30th aka La Turque vs The World (Canton Tastes, Albert Street): Last bottle, and it was fitting that this was the best so far. Not quite a classic Chablis - the fruit was a bit too sweet and ripe so that guesses were further south in the Cote d'Or - but absolutely wonderful stuff nonetheless. It had a subtle nose, with white flowers, some sweet oak notes, yellow fruit, sweet lemons, tangerines, pineapples almost, some cream and a really nice mineral scents underneath. Subtle, but very complex, and it kept unfolding with time until some very Chablisienne schist and shell scents started emerging. The palate was nothing short of stunning. This was possibly the most irresistibly drinkable, perfectly balanced white Burg I have ever had. None of us could stop ourselves from slurping sip after sip of the wine even though the course it was meant to be paired with had not yet arrived - it was just the amazing clarity on the fruit and intricately woven acidity on the mid-palate. Yet again though, like on the nose, it was so effortlessly precise and balanced that it was almost subtle. Make no mistake though, this had tons of complexity. Weightier than other vintages I have had, with fleshy white fruit with yellow tones showing lots of depth and concentration, yet the whole lot was undergirded by a stream of tingly minerality and dry structure. The finish was fresh, long and persistent, and yet almost gentle in the manner it slid away with a touch of white chocolate and cream, almond nut and white flowers slowly unfolding in the mouth. When the food finally arrived, the wine proved to be a good, if not quite perfect, pairing with deep fried fish with soy sauce. The acidity cut through the fish quite nicely, while the white meat pulled a but bit of spiciness from the wine. Very classy wine, yet it was also crazy delicious. Superb stuff.

Popped and poured. Light hue, quite pretty with shades of yellow, gold and hints of green. Aromatic nose of green apple, citrus peel, sea breeze, and minerals...the latter characteristics becoming more prominent with air. Medium-light to medium body with a lush yet steely presence. On the palate, this young wine shows focused, mineral-laden fruit with a touch of spice from oak. The chalky, lush fruit has a deceivingly forceful presence that is refined by the lush mouthfeel; a juxtaposition of power and grace. Lengthy, contemplative finish. A beautiful wine that will only gain with additional time in cellar, after which time it could veer on profound.

Sasi's Birthday Burgs (Restaurant Alba, Keong Saik Road): Serious stuff. Not quite as show-stopping a wine as the last bottle I tried, but still a really first class Grand Cru Chablis. Nose showed deep whiffs of talc, chalk, flinty mineral, flecks of seashell, all very Chablis, along with rather less characteristic ripe, fleshy white fruit, a bit of cream and butter and a hint of flowers. Palate was quite rich as well, with an explosion of flavours on the attack - white fruit, pears, white flowers and more of those saline, seashell notes. Lovely. Great depth, power, lovely lines, focus, delicious fleshiness, profound concentration, beautiful length, with unfolding mineral just going on and on. This was a perfect, perfect pairing our Japanese flounder carpaccio starter. The wine and the fish were absolutely singing in pitch perfect harmony, and the rating here might be a bit biased, because the pairing was just so seamless that it was almost impossible to tell where the fish stopped and the wine began. Fresh tastes of the sea were simply spreading all over the mouth, slowly fanning out into mineral lines, and little lemony flavours at the edges. Beautiful.

Very clean, bright, steely nose with ripe apple fruit, lemon, honey and wet rock. The bright palate is ver clean, with great balanced between citrus and green apple fruit, minerals, and aromatic herbs. Lingers in the mouth with a steely aftertaste. Already accessible. Best on the second day.

a real knockout. it took a little time to open up but then the nose was chalky and fresh, floral, and with a core of lemony marine infused stone. Pure and graceful, and it packed a lot of power into a lean frame. The finish was pungently Chablis and quite long. I would rather drink this than the 2005 right now, and i suspect that will be true throughout the life of the wines. a stylistic preference - this one is more terroir expressive.

Brooklynguy opened the 05 and 06 Fevre Les Clos side-by-side. Interesting comparison between the two. The '05 was like quartz: clear, chiseled, multifaceted and hard as rock. The '06 is more effusive now, more forward, showing more nuance and detail. This is in-line with my experience from both vintages: '06 is giving and precocious, drinking well now; '05 is lean and, to my palate, in need of some time. Both these wines are great, but the '06 is more friendly and more giving now. The 05 may be better in 10 years.

Dinner at Quay (The Rocks, Sydney): What a way to start diner - this was an absolute knockout wine. Decanted for about half an hour, this needed it too. When poured, it showed an absolutely beautiful nose. Deep, intense, classy and layered. Subtle creamy oak had a layer of saline seawater scents underneath, along with another later of fleshy white fruit and some savoury, mossy forest floor accents. Not shouting for attention, but absolutely compelling. The palate had a creamy texture, with nice and rich white fruit showing plenty of Grand Cru weight, and absolutely pitch perfect balance from its juicy Chablis acidity. I got a hint of oyster shall, plenty of stony mineral, and lots of fleshy fruit in super-integrated layers that showed a profound depth. The finish had a long, powerful pull of juicy fruit, smoke hints and spice. This was ever so complete. A great wine now, the scary thing is that it is still a baby, and should get much better with time. Lovely.

A beautiful wine, quite green in hue, with a very mineral driven aromatic nose. In the mouth this wine was the least evolved of Fevre's Grand Crus for this year. It had dried white minerals, green pear, a little blackness like anise or licorice. It also coated the mouth with an unctuous, oily, mineral texture. The finish was very long and braced by nice acidity. This wine has a great chance of getting much better. 93++

En semi-aveugle à Joliette. Nez citronné, bouche bien équilibrée. Le vin est vif, droit, très acide mais d'un grand potentiel évident. Mon préféré de la série 2006 avec Côte de Bouguerots de Fèvre.

not as classically chablis yet in my tasting. more overtly fruity than bougros cotes; couldn't quite sense the stones and seabreeze in this one yet. taste is perhaps more akin to a chassagne on this one. perhaps the sap and the fruity fat will melt away with time. would have preferred more focus on this one right now, and found it round and fruity today.

So fresh and pure on the nose with subtle whiffs of oyster shell, white flowers, lemon and even a little spearmint (hey, who let Noel Ramonet in the cellar). While they use a little new wood on this wine it is barely visible other than adding texture and a slightly creamy dimension to the piercing fruits. There is great volume here with a light, airy feel. The finish is a kinetic ball of minerals and citrus and one is left with a wonderful chalky imprint.

Extremely light straw color. Soaring aromatics offer a rainbow of aromas - chalky lemon, spearmint, anise, hints of red apple, even touch of tropical fruit. Incredibly expansive on the palate - the wine seems to literally grow on the tongue. Leaves a lasting chalky citrus imprint in the mouth for minutes. This seems to be at a different level than the 2002 was at the same stage. Great wine.

Layered and very smart wine and still just there despite a streak of marzipan on the aftertaste.

super clear, deep and clean nose, lively freshness, green pomaceous fruit, wet limestone, lime, lime leaves, sorrel.

A bit of pineapple on the nose. You can feel the weight and grip on the palate. Densely extracted. Acid feels lower than I remember but it is still present. The end is very long.

Can't imagine how a few more years of bottle age can really add on even more

Beautiful.

This is in-line with my experience from both vintages: '06 is giving and precocious, drinking well now; '05 is lean and, to my palate, in need of some time. Both these wines are great, but the '06 is more friendly and more giving now. The 05 may be better in 10 years.

Bright lemon and lime on the nose with lots of wet stone. Lean, precise fruit and mineral on the palate with fantastic acidity and great length. Very nice.

En semi-aveugle à Joliette. Nez citronné, bouche bien équilibrée. Le vin est vif, droit, très acide mais d'un grand potentiel évident. Mon préféré de la série 2006 avec Côte de Bouguerots de Fèvre.

Nice Chablis. The 2004 and 2005 were both better wines with 04 being the best of the bunch.

not as classically chablis yet in my tasting. more overtly fruity than bougros cotes; couldn't quite sense the stones and seabreeze in this one yet. taste is perhaps more akin to a chassagne on this one. perhaps the sap and the fruity fat will melt away with time. would have preferred more focus on this one right now, and found it round and fruity today.

Dinner w/ Longboarder, basecadet, DoktaP, Asterixis (Home, Toronto, Canada): Light-gold colour with green flecks. Aromas of minerals/stones, lemon, apple, honey, and spice. Medium-full bodied, great minerality and acidity. A bit of spice there also. Long finish, ~40+s. Delicious!

EWS California Chardonnay vs. White Burgundy (Warwick Hotel, NYC): Tasted blind. Pale yellow with faint nose of lemon grass. Long lemony and mineral finish. Classic Chablis, but not a blockbuster.

Great wine.

Pale straw. Apples and citrus on the nose, with pronounced minerality and a creamy note. Remarkably extracted for a chablis, but balanced with superb cut and lift. A really impressive chablis with a very long future.

Very clean, bright, steely nose with green and ripe apple fruit, rock, and sweet spices. Citrus and green apple fruit, minerals, a hint of honey and steel on the very balanced, clean palate. Lingers in the mouth. Primary but very promising.
