Pale in the glass with long lasting bubbles. The nose has notes of green apple, brioche, yeast, and a touch of a nutty oxidative character. On the palate the wine is fresh with fine bubbles, a great mouthfeel, and good followthrough from the nose, with the addition of some light citrus like lemon. Brut, so a touch of sweetness balanced well by the acidity. Great entry-level champagne.

Maybe I'm overrating this, but I want to give it an extra point for the QPR- it's routinely $40-$45 and really feels like fantastic Champagne, incredibly expressive, forward, and sufficiently complex for what it is. I really got a big burst of white cherry and fuji apple on the nose with touches of pie crust, plus a very subtle sort of creamy yogurt-like tone. Palate has fantastic energy, crisp and dense. I agree with others that the dosage could be on the slightly high side, but I don't have enough champagne experience to really say. It lacks a bit of savory complexity and/or precision compared to some other champagnes I've tried, but has to be one of the best QPR examples of the region I've found so far, and I'd compare it to several others closer to $60.

Really fantastic Champagne. Extremely fine bubbles, super dry but round and full. Green apple, apricot, green grape, sour candy. Finish is strongly yeasty, sweet brioche, etc.

Excellent value. I find that most low end champagnes are dominated by yeast, bubbles, or both. This one is balanced with copious fruit and perhaps a touch of residual sugar. Nice lemony acidity. Complex and begging for one more sip. Drink as an aperitif, or with food.

Had this again tonight. Wait 20 minutes after opening to drink. Dont know if there is bottle variation or what I did differently than the last bottle, but this bottle was much more classic champagne than the last. Cleaner, less fungal notes, less noticable acidity. Everyone who had it was excited and had similar notes. 100% pinot noir but it wasn't obvious. Still not incredible length. Could of drank 3 of these bottles tonight with the company I had, sad this was my last in stock. Drank like a $80 bottle of NV champ.

Fine bubbles. Very light and clean. Fresh honey crisp apple, fairly short. Light floral nose, maybe orange blossom. Nice for the price, will use for guests on new years.

Fantastic Champagne, particularly at the price point. Persistent bubbles. Impressive weight, textures, and precision. It shows best at about 48 to 53 degrees F (9 to 11 C). Excellent pairing with just about any food. 91-92.

This pours medium straw in the glass with moderate yet fine effervescence. The nose is only modestly expressive but what is there is very appealing to my palate. The nose is of vanilla wafer, spring flowers, faint pastry, mint, asian pear, white peach, and lightly chalkly elements. The palate features a lovely texture with optimal (to my palate) pressure. The dosage is just little high for me at 8 g/l but not too troubling. The finish is not terribly long replaying the fruit and floral elements of the nose, closing on chalk. All in all this is an enjoyable Champagne that is an excellent value at $43 CAD. Positives are true champagne character and optimal pressure, with drawbacks are slightly elevated dosage, light expression with modest complexity, and lack of autolytic character.
On the nose there is a little of the bready/yeasty note typical of champagne, along with a very faint whiff of fruit that is just starting to rot. The aromas are subtle though. On the palate there are some fresh fruit notes, pear and apple especially. Balanced, pleasant. A slight negative - the bottle does not take a standard sparkling wine bottle stopper.

A splendid example of true Champagne, yet without the overly-hyed mark-ups to pay for Veuvre Cliquot, Bollinger or Taitenger advertising and marketing budgets. Stands proudly with them and will show itself once you try it!

As always, a solid value. Nothing amazing, but for the price I don't know many better options in Champagne, or in other regions' sparklers for that matter. In style this wine is very consistent year-to-year, and is a very "middle of the fairway" kind of Champagne. Neither particularly rich/autolytic or lean/fresh, it has a centrist style without being boring. My opinion on this is usually that if you can get it at $25 or less it's a good buy.

From magnum, gonna enjoy this over several days. Rich, spicy, some red fruits alongside citrusy zest. This is a BdN Champagne, tasty with a generous dosage. Not too complex, but quite drinkable. Better as it warms up a bit.

I was a bit disappointed by this bottle. The nose is fresh but bland; on the palate it's completely one-dimensional and rather thin; the finish is short. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just very bland.
It gets a little better with air and being slightly warmer, but there are plenty of non-champagne alternatives at about half the ~US$30 that I paid that would work equally well as generic white fizz for a party.

N: Closed; Apples, minerals, with a very slight yeastiness
P: RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (threshold R.S.?) offset by an acidity which leads into a LONG, very slightly bitterish finish with hints of a tangy/SWTNESS. Despite the potential R.S., I thinking this would poss be better with food than as an aperitif? 12% ABV; My VG, *poss* VG+ for QPR? [This vendor's $24.99 is as good as anyone on wine-searcher.]

With a few exceptions, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier based Champagnes stand above Blanc de Blancs. The textures, weight, and structure here delight the senses. Poised, elegant, and not lacking for power and structure. Crazy QPR!

Continuing my meander through base-level Champagnes in the local market, I liked this one as much as any tasted so far: crisp, dry, tangy citrus flavor, solid (if not generous) mousse. Clean finish, perhaps the tiniest bit short. Priced near $30, this is the leading contender for our house Champagne. Preferred to Pol Roger white label, Laurent-Perrier la Cuvée, les Mesnil Grand Cru, Vouette et Sorbée Fidele. Differently-styled but comparable quality to Bollinger Special and Lallier zero-dosage, for less $. Maybe not quite equal to the Special. Preferable to the two Dufour bottling I've tired (pinot blanc and pinot noir), which were too exotic for my palate. Next up: Turgy GC Reserve and Roederer Brut Permier. Among non-Champagne cremants, Huet takes the blue ribbon, though - preferably - with 10+ years; Tissot takes the yellow ribbon (though Tissot may be an idiosyncrasy on my part).

I read that some Champagne connoisseurs believe that pound for pound this is one of the finest NV examples on the market. Whether this is true or not is up for conjecture but it’s definitely vivid, tasty, and expressive. Crisp apple, tangerine, lemon-lime, and brioche notes lead into a creamy, minerally, and vibrant mouthful of mouthwatering intensity. I can see why people are high on this.

Really fantastic Champagne, DG 2013, PnP and enjoyed a few glasses today. Red apple, strawberry, tangerine, and lemon, as well as toast points on the nose and palate. A high quality wine. Drinking nicely now, but this wine will continue to do so through 2022+.

Affordable Champagne for Summer; 8/1/2018-9/2/2018 (España - Spain): Drinking by the sea before dawn in Alicante. Very good memories before going to Manuel's place for churro with chocolate. Unfortunately it was closed from 25th to 28th. A living, thriving and truly intense champagne with a prevailing pinot noir note. Ideal to match food right now but leaving for another three years in the cellar can only benefit it. Excellent QPR. € 24. Dosage: 10 g / l Time to go bed.

This was disappointing. There are some promising baked aromas that are repeated on the mouth. As a whole, however, the aroma and flavor palette is dull, dirty and lacking finesse, and the wine is generally lacking fruitiness as well.

Everywhere around the world this one is a very good cellar. Smells a touch of strawberry and touch a brioche. Something about barrels / vs. tank. Based on vintage 2015 which is laser etched into the bottle. Two years on the lees it sounds like. Reserve wine is 10 - 30% of the blend depending. Some years they don't use any reserve wine. And actually this is all stainless steel. They try to do three years on the lees. Feel the soft easy going dosage. But I think to most people it would come across as fruity. And its 100% pinot noir so that is showing nicely. Fresh fruit all the way.

Pale & light yellow in color with a very fine & constant mousse. Forward, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, pears & lemons/limes with overtones of floral & yeasty/toasty notes, minerals & roasted hazelnuts. Light bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of pears, apples & lemons/limes with yeasty/toasty & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present. Very good QPR when found for less than $25.

Medium intensity aromas of apple tart, brioche, soaked apples. Fruits and light citrus bitterness on the palate. Medium body. Not enough acidity to balance sugar, so it seems very much on a sweet side of Brut. Could have reduced the dossage from 10g/l. Spent some extended time on lees - 5 years. 100% Pinot Noir, so technically Blanc de Noirs. 4 generations family run business.
Entry level supermarket Champagne, but delivers quite well at a bargain €24 price level.

NV MOUTARD GRANDE CUVEE BRUT ROSE- this is one of my go to roses at home and I usually drink it in conjunction with a forthcoming Pinot Noir which on this day could predicted as we`re drinking old Williams Selyems; it has all of the requisite flavours for the lighter fruit side of Pinot Noir with strawberry, red raspberry and red cherry; additionally, it was accented with a bit of toast, spice and smoke; the bright and deep red colour entices one to want to go further and we diid graciously.

Disgorged 11/15. Crisp, clean, carbonated white wine. A bit of an aftertaste, but not offensive. Gilman's 92 and 92+ scores are on different disgorgements and certainly don't match my impressions of this bottle. Especially since, for not much more, you can get Gosset, which offers significantly more depth. Looking over all the CT notes (most of which rate this Champagne far higher than I), I see that a bit of age might help. I'd like to see other notes on this disgorgement before buying more and trying another bottle. A LOT BETTER 2nd day. Not Gosset level, but settled, richer, deeper. I can see the positive reviews now. I can get this at $25 NET, and it's a good buy for that.

Champagne flights (@Sigh, Sonoma): Certainly a more restrained nose than the Taittinger. Very pretty floral, nose. Not as good as some Burgundy-bases sparkling wines I have had at a $5--$10 lower price point, this wine may technically be Champagne, but it lacks body, depth, and effervescence. For only around $10 more, one could have a Champagne worthy of the esteemed region. For @$10 less, one could enjoy a bottle of a superior sparkler such as Mumm Napa from California.

Some fruit and mousse, but this is somewhat disjointed. Short on the finish. This is fair for the price, but I don't think it can compare with champagnes that are $10-$15 more. At this price point, I think you can do better with California sparkling or cava.

{diam, 12%} Nose more of green apples than anything else. There’s little autolysis character here, just simple white fruits with fairly coarse bubbles. Light/medium-bodied, but the finish is barely medium-length. For the $A25 this cost a local fizz is a better bet.

New Year's Eve on a budget! Light aromas of almond and brioche, and even lighter appley fruit and lemon peel. More fruit on the palate - apple, pear, light citrus - along with a moderate dose of leesy, yeasty, bready savoriness. Good acid-sugar balance; clearly has some dosage, but has nice fresh tart acidity and steers clear of any explicit sweetness. Refreshing and tasty bubbly.

Dinner at Mike and Cathy's place (Wellington, New Zealand): Colour pale yellow. Fine beaded mousse. A bouquet of stone fruit: peach, apricot and some pear. Also a yeasty autolysis element with some steely minerality. Fresh and focused in the mouth with good, vibrant acids. The flavours are of citrus and orchard stonefruit, with a bit of mealiness and brioche, finishing dry, on some minerality. Good mid palate fruit weight. Good value, but would benefit from greater complexity. I understand from M. Moutard this is 10 g/l dosage.

Monthly Tasting Group: Spain (Solera, Mpls, MN): Pale gold color. Had 1 glass over an hour. This was far superior to my first bottle. Much more complex and endearing. The nose shows good yeastiness, mineral, earthy, citrus, dough, floral, apple, almost a bit exotic. The palate offers citrus, pear, earth, dough, yeast, and crisp minerals. Doesn't have the excessive chalkiness tonight. Hopefully this will be the trend going forward.

Clear, bright and pale straw in color with a slight greenish tinge. Fine bubbles form a nice mouse on the surface. Medium concentration on the nose with notes of apple, pear and a distinct floral, especially honey suckle, aroma, however it's mineral and chalk that really stand out. On the palate things start to get more lively with an intense concentration of flavor and huge dose of palate cleansing acidity. More ripe red fruit gives a perception of sweetness. The strong toasty/yeasty character gives way to a long, slightly bitter finish. Overall an enjoyable, fairly full, Champagne that in my opinion is more reminiscent of a really good California sparkling wine.

Opened another bottle, it drank quite nicely. There is a touch of mold on the finish though, which leads me to believe that the base wine could have had a botrytis issue. Other than that it had pleasant lemon and lime aromas to go with apple and a bit of grass. Great acidity in this bottle, along with a nice mineral-laden mid palate. Good QPR Champagne.

Fragrant aromas of yeast and cinnamon. Light palate of bread crust and apples.* The finish is dominated by lemon mousse flavors, with angostura bitters showing up at the end. Not profound, but delicate and subtle. A great value at $30 - or, more accurately, a great value in the champagne universe.

Light golden color with medium sized bubbles. Light citrus nose. Bright apple flavors on the palate. Medium length finish. None of the nuance you’d expect in such a well regarded grower Champagne – just sheer bubbly apple flavors. At just $30 this is still more than drinkable and even an acceptable value for Champagne. Nonetheless, nothing much stands out here and I cannot help but being slightly underwhelmed by the whole experience. Lot number: LBR07*2529.

This was the house pour at an event I attended for New Years Eve.
Clean, but fairly unexpressive nose, with bits of spritzy apple and maybe a little hint of nut. Hard to get anything more. Mousse seemed a little large in mouth, with wine's whole impact lacking cut. Flavors on palate were simple apple. If I hadn't seen the label, I might have guessed an Andersen or Green Valley sparkler, but one without the generosity of Roederer Estate or the cut of Iron Horse. Fine for toasting, but not a buy.
I was disappointed, because I've been wanting to try the cuvee Arbane from Moutard. This wine, however, makes me think I should be looking somewhere else to satisfy my curiosity.

And actually this is all stainless steel. They try to do three years on the lees. Feel the soft easy going dosage. But I think to most people it would come across as fruity.

Chalky on the palate, with very nice green orchard and stone fruits as well as an Asian fusion (spice, lemongrass, ginger) note. Very very good. Really enjoyed this. Our favorite of the flight. 90-92.
