Bought around 1990 and kept in my cellar since then. Not very well reputed at the time, it was affordable for a young student. And it is always a pleasure drink old Bdx, although one very quickly understand why aging wine is not for everybody. Light amber. Intense nose dominated by tertiary tones pf warm bricks, camphor, teak oil, and steel. A touch of sour cherries remains. Medium bodied, very dry with high acidity and little fruit. Some sweet tones fight their way through on the finish, and the aftertaste is surprisingly long. Should have been drink ten years ago at the least, but it so great fun to have the possibility to taste wines like this. The rating is technically too high, and emotionally too low.

Big Bordeaux XV (Kevin and Vicki's house): This wine was maderized, but it still was enjoyable to drink. Every once in a while, there is a whiff of complexity, but it is lurking and very much in the background. Even in its current state, I would give it an 88. Please cellar your wines correctly!

Decanted the wine and let it breathe for about a half hour before drinking. Clean garnet color. Nose and taste were a bit sharp upon opening but the wine settled down nicely to a soft, fruity tasting experience that nicely complemented my roast duck. Although a bit light on fruit, the wine had matured very nicely and was in good balance with no evidence of off-taste. Should last at least a couple more years.

Big Bordeaux XV: Featuring '86 Mouton and Margaux (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Bonus bottle from Robert. Over the hill, drinkable, but unneccessary on a night like this. More than one person commented that they would drink this if they opened it on its own. Sour red cherry fruits, dried earth, orange peel, pomegranate.
