Italian theme dinner at Highland. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl 1855. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of red pomegranate, blood orange, red cherries, strawberries. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity dipping to medium, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), soft silky medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet nectar, red pomegranate, red plums, strawberries, elegant red cherries. Long finish. Not as much fireworks as the last experience with this bottle. Nonetheless still a special nose and lovely silken palate.

Tasted at Tre Bicchieri NYC. Glorious wine. Classic traditional Barolo. Showing all the expected complexity. Drinking well now but even better with time in the cellar. Expansive and long on the palate. Very hard not to love this wine.

Sample few hours later from bottle opened at a Barolo dinner. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, bright pretty ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of special floral rose perfume, very sexy high-toned red cherries, red pomegranate, orange pulp, red licorice spice. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), soft silky medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of rose petals, fresh potpourri, sweet red licorice, spice, high-toned red cherries, red pomegranate, orange pulp + peel zest. Long finish. Excellent quality. So complex that I am not sure I even got all the flavours out of this small sample pour. Definitely an X-factor wine. Inspired to go buy a bottle. I would drink it in 5-6 years rather than 10+ though.

beautiful barolo, but as others have mentioned, still needs at least 5 more years
