Pre-2002 Rousseau Dinner (WS NYC): More comments about the rustic nature of CdlR. This didn't have the elegance of some of the other cuvees, but an enjoyable power.

blind I guesed GC 09 or 10, I was suprised of the vintage. So fresh, still notes, violet, licorice, strawberries, balanced, soft ripe Tannins, at his Peak, maybe 10-15 more years at this stage. 96-97

Bourgogne soirée (at Etty Cohen's): transparent red-amber double decanted - very few solid sediment elegant fruity earthy aroma with dusty notes med-full bodied, firm tannins, excellent acidity, great harmony, well balanced, optimal fruity level, delicate earthy-leathery flavours, seducing finish, can age beautifully 10-15 years more.

(Rousseau Armand Clos de la Roche) Medium ruby with obvious bricking at the rim. There's an undertow of red fruit, but the dominant note is of vanilla. The palate is sweet, has good concentration of black cherry and the tannins are absolutely smooth and 'ready'. The vanilla comes through on the palate too, but still very good.

Dusty nose, but lots of very ripe, mature fruit on palate. Pretty and mellow. Lovely
